Claire- ew no! I can't imagine Sean Bean as Valek. He's too shifty a character and really can't imagine him as an assassin type. I see him more as a "lets wield a sword and shield" type... I'll just forever see him as Boromir...lol ;)

Ooh, I don't know if he's a bit too old for this, but I've always pictured Ray Stevenson as Ari. Or, well, I guess he's ok for Janco too. Here he is as gladiator/ex-legionnaire Titus Pullo in Rome:
I think the description of Janco is vague enough that he doesn't have to be like, 20 years old. Stevenson is 45, and I think makeup can make him look at least 10 years younger. He's definitely got the Janco build.
His hair is straight and kind of golden-brown but I did always think that Ari's curly locks were too long to be military, so I think they'd get away with just lightening up his 'do, so he'd make a decent Ari also as long as the Janco they got was a lot slimmer.

Alethea I love that you said Aiden Turner. He is so very sexy!! I am a huge Being Human fan. I also love Ray to. Then again Rome is the best.

Yay! Oh yeah and I just realized I contradicted myself in the previous post, so I fixed it. I do always get A & J mixed up in my head, I keep needing to word-associate Ari with "hairy" as in curly golden locks!

Yes Ray is so handsome...I always had a little crush on J & A!! He could play either and I would be happy...as for Aiden I really like him as Valek...he has that slim slinky build and with a little refining he could pull of a cat suit!!
What about these for Valek?! Eric Bana
[image error]
Or Clive Owen

I'm really thinking Eric Bana!!!
I'll second that, Alethea. Eric Bana's not nearly manly enough. I always kinda got bad vibes from him anyway.
I noticed that not too many have mentioned her, but I like Kate Beckinsale for Irys. I think she could pull off the role (though I don't recall haircolor, but you can always use a wig or contacts to make someone right for a role).
And i agree with Natalie Portman for Yelena.. I can see her kicking butt!

I think that Sean Faris is my Valek..he's only 27 but hey in a few years perfect...
Here's that cocky grin...
Stephanie! I completely agree with the Sean Faris as Valek! YUM! I always pictured Valek looking younger than his age so I think he fits perfectly!
Stephanie: He's not perfect, but he's the closest that I've seen yet as to how I imagined Valek. Do his hair a little differently, make him a bit older and give him some blue contacts . . . This might be it!!! ;)
Yeah I like that he has that kind of lean muscular build...very Valek like...I wouldn't mind seeing him in a catsuit...lol.
wat about him as valek ?????or eder of the other two ???
he works well in all three i think

he is hot in the series merlin on bbc 1
u can get it on youtube
i miss merlin this week cuz im hiking up a mountain in waterford !!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dnt get to see the pretty boy that plays arther *crys*
I think of his face every time read the books.. *sigh* the first picture is better when it isn't cropped..
Is it weird to say that he seems too . . . nice-- for the role? Not subtle enough. He's not TERRIBLE, but he's certainly not ideal. Not right for the role, I don't think. I considered Ryan Reynolds-- because, frankly, he's good at the confidence routine-- but I don't think he's right either . . . AH! The riddle will never be solved! Except when and if the movie comes out, (probably only in my dreams) and then the expert cast-y people might be able to find a good Valek. *sighs*
I can always see Australian actress Saskia Burmeister as Yelena (she plays Nav/Nikki Caetano in Sea Patrol). As for Valek... I'm torn between Rodrigo Santoro and Eric Bana.
All right, NAY on Adrian Grenier (he just annoys me) and resounding YEA on Henry Cavill and Richard Armitage.
Did someone already say David Tennant?
Top of my list is still Toby Stephens, though.

OMG i loved him as doctor who !!!!!!!!!!1i bsolutly refuse to watch it now as hes not in it but i would love to see him in this.....but i dont know if valek is his role......maybe Janco as he was very.....sarcastic and joking in the doctor who series......but still ..*drool*
I totally agree that Tennant could be Janco! The extra energy and joking manner is close to perfect.
Yowza! Just a little nudge from your recently absent moderator (apologies, apologies) to say, come on back to the group, hang out, make some noise... There are Spy Glass giveaways coming on up!!! Oh yes, there are! Details to be posted on main group home very very soon.
I vote for Richard Armitage as Valek and Olga Kurylenko as Yelena. She's tall, but otherwise, she'd be great as Yelena.
I think Jared Leto for Valek..he is a beautiful and angular man and the blue eyes are already there! Natalie Portman would be more suited as Opal Cowan from the glass series.. The doctor who guy would be good as Janco, way to sarcastic looking for Valek:)
Devlen is a tricky one because he has an unusual face and long braided hair.. Maybe Jonathan Rhys Meyers?
It's a shame Angelina Jolie wasn't a little younger. She would make a good Yelena.. There is an Scotish/Aussie actor on neighbours playing a character called Andrew Robinson. His name I think, is Jordan Smith.. He'd make an awesome Cahil:D
I agree on Jordan Smith! I don't really watch Neighbours (or any other soaps) but I caught a bit a few weeks ago that he was in and he is definitely Cahil.
How nice looking is Jordan! Also young and inexperienced (the meaning of the name Cahil) suits his demeanor.. He would have to grow a goatee though.. He is around 22 and has very pale eyes just like the description of Cahil..
Lady Danielle "The Book Huntress" wrote: "I vote for Richard Armitage as Valek and Olga Kurylenko as Yelena. Penny, that's what I like about RA as Valek. And also, he's not pretty, but he's attractive all the same.
Gisela wrote: "hmm... Well, I have a new excuse to reread the series.... :D"LEE PACE been in love with him since he smiled for the first time in pushing daisies...:P And actually I agree especially in the last two books he could be very good...
see I think Jeoffrey Donovan could be a great Valek, (michael weston in burn notice) and Yelena is harder though but I'll probably come up with something.
