Question in ABOSAA

He's a lawyer and was trying to get Brianna to marry him but she kind of rudely refused his hand in marriage. :-)
He is formerly called Gerald Forbes...but for some reason in ABOSAA he is Neil. Remember before Bree had her baby he was willing to marry her and his mother had "granny lust". Has DG ever addressed this discrepancy?
I haven't come across an explanation for this discrepancy. It's not the first and I don't believe it will be the last.
I was very curious to see if DG had posted an explanation on compuserve so I searched and here is her explanation:"I expect that--like many Scots--he has multiple names, and he (and the people who know him) may used different combinations on different occasions. So he's likely Cornelius Gerald Hamish McKay Forbes, and goes by Neil or Gerald as seems convenient."
Convenient indeed. But I'll go with it because I love her stories!

where Brianna gets kidnapped by Stephen Bonnet (ahhh!!!!) and I just need to know, who in the world is Neil Forbes again??? I've seen his name throughout ABOSAA but I cannot remember who he is and where he came from and when he was first introduced!
