I dont know if it was "neccesary" but i think it was fun to see Eclipse from the view of this girl. After reading this book and then watching Eclipse again, i saw the movie differently which i enjoyed.

i think it does cuz it explained a little more about victoria and her army people. i guess.

I am a HUGE Twilight fan, but this book was a waste of my time! I wish i could have that hour back....

yes. it was great to see another view point

of course not, but it was a sure sell right before movie 3's release, so why not make another few million on a short story? Honestly, I think the hype has cooled and it wouldn't sell now.

I read an interview with Ms Meyer when the book first came out where she said she eished she had gone in a different direction with this character and given her a much larger role in the whole story. So, having read this I would say yes, this book was necessary because she really wanted us to get to know Bree Tanner a little better.

Yeah, it was necessary because it explained alot that was going on in the other books.

No but it was nice to see what Victoria was up to in someone else point of view!

it was a decent book, however it was not necessary... another POV is a good idea but the series revolves around its principal trio... so it was futile..

no dont think necessary but it was to make money anybody would of done it

Nope, it wasn't really nessesary, but it was a good book. I think it was maded because when Bella's changed she's not really like the other newborns. And it shows exactly what the Volturi (sorry i cant remember how to spell it.) did.

no it was completely unnecessary. it was written terrible (which is no surprise seeing as it was written by stephenie meyer) and it just went nowhere! it was such a let down to the other books! i have to admit, i liked the fact that they fell in love, but really, that could have been said in eclipse. could have been slotted in there a bit. there was no need to make a WHOLE book about some meazly chick who noone actually cared about. totally pointless!

I think it's necessary. It gave us a good view of why Bree and Riley was in the fight. And what they fought for.

It also introduced some new characters, like Diego and Fred. It was worth reading, even though they died.

Ryan yes i agree. i just found it so unfortunate that Diego and that other vamp that emmitted that "stench?" had to die along with bree. It would have been ...more
