I had to force myself to read 4. I only read it because I hate finishing series' (When I read the forth one had just came out).

I think she is just dragging out each book, I mean a couple are absolutely pointless! I mean she write a whole freaking book about Zoey or someone else making one stinking decision! I think she is just dragging it out to try to make more money so if she makes more than she'll get more. I hate when authors do that, kinda like Stephenie meyer she made the Twight series and once that was a big hit she just stopped and didnt want to finsh anything else she started, it makes me not want to read any of her book if she even makes anymore
i say it should be a TV show cause with all the books the author is adding to the series i think it would be to long/dramatic to put in one or two movies.
I really did not like these series! I stopped reading after the third book. After the first book I already was disappointed but I kept reading hoping it would get better. But to me it did not get any better, it got worse. Just my opinion :)
I read this book a couple years ago, and still haven't read the other part of the series. Unfortunately, I cannot recall boring or annoying parts but know it was not as great as my friend raved when she discovered I was reading L.A. Banks series and stopped on book 6 with her, will get back to it in the future.

I can't seem to pick it back up either. I stopped somewhere along the part where Zoey is 'not all together', Rheiphm (whatever) and Stevie Rae are flitting about . . .it really did get boring. And hearing that Heath comes back?!?!? Yeah, I don't think I'll keep that one on my night stand. OH! And no one touched on the annoying "Brown pop", the 'twins' completing each others sentences, "Right twin?" "You got it, Twin." (UGH) and I didn't know Jack is gonna die. Annoying that they make him seem like such a wuss, a child. *Roll my eyes*. Yeah, I think I'll move on. . .
I dont get why all the boys fell in love with her, and why would she keep on going out with that drunko lol.

how very correct they all are complete fails
Idk, I stopped really reading it for Zoey's storyline. I find myself glad when it switches over to Stevie Rae and Rephaim, I think it is something fresh... and I love Rephaim's character. With Zoey's story it is always about boy drama which gets kind of hard to read after awhile as it seems like the same thing over and over, ugh.

First it was:
"OMG I ..."
Agreed.

Agreed.
the authors don't know how to write. So many awkward phrasing. Not to mention the use of 'poopy' in a sentence. ugh.
I'm happy to confess I enjoyed this series at times. Some moments are movingly written. However one of the things that frustrates me is the way the authors feel a need to repeat themselves so many times. Okay, Damien and Jack are gay, cool. Great to see but we don't need to be beaten over the head with this news constantly. I also feel the representation of the gay characters is shallow and stereotypical. And if one more character 'hearts' something I think I'm going to throw up. Unless American teens are THAT different to Aussie teens, I think the authors are also rather superficial in their treatment of teenagers. The fact that one of them is a teenager makes this more baffling. One point though: stop branding Zoey a slut folks. She's confused, she's made some bad choices but who hasn't. She's had sex with two people. One older who manipulated her and one she cares for deeply and is in a relationship with. If that makes her a slut in your eyes you must be narrow-minded and judgmental.
And if we're complaining about 'perfect' protagonists, let's talk about broody, mopey, i'd-rather-die-than-anyone-I-love-experience-pain martyr Bella from the Twilight series. good grief!
Samantha wrote: "I stopped reading this series, much to my friend's horror, because it just got stupid. I mean really do you think that guys really fall in love with the slut? in real life they would sleep with her..."Wow! That's a pretty extreme attitude. Are you this judgmental of real people? The stupidest aspect of the plot you have to comment on is that a character is a 'slut' and no one would fall in love with a slut? What about her loyalty, her determination to do the right thing even when that makes her life more difficult? I think they're admirable traits.
PS: since when does confusion over attraction to more than one person and two sexual partners make someone a slut?
Stephanie wrote: "My main beef with this series is that their editor seems to have been really crappy at his/her job. I found countless, not so easily looked over, grammatical and word errors... Nothing drives me more crazy in this series than Erin & Shaunee "twinning" every 5 seconds. It's always something like "Do you think we should do that, twin?" "Yes, twin that sounds good" "There is a shoe sale going on twin" "OMG twin, we should totally go". I can put up with pretty much everything else in the series but the fact that it is in almost every sentence that either character says is too much for me. They are not supposed to be in 3rd grade, so why make the characters speak to each other like they are? It drives me insane! Okay, I'm done my little rant now :)

What loyalty? She cheated on her boyfriend WITH HER TEACHER. That, my friend, is a slut. No, being attracted to other people while in a relationship isn't being a slut (it's human nature) but acting on that attraction is. Neither is having two sexual partners, but once again when your in a relationship with someone, you're generally not supposed to sleep with someone else.

Heaven wrote: "Niamh225 wrote: "Samantha wrote: "I stopped reading this series, much to my friend's horror, because it just got stupid. I mean really do you think that guys really fall in love with the slut? in r..."I meant loyalty to her friends, not boyfriends. And yes, acting on attraction outside a relationship is wrong. The question is, why did the authors choose to have her do this? To show the consequences of poor choices? To show the effects of betrayal (Loren's, Zoey's, take your pick)? People in this forum go on about how Zoey's perfect. Clearly she's not and surely this makes a character more complex. You could even get all philosophical about how she's not perfect yet achieves forgiveness which shows something else about human nature and desirable qualities via her friends, and how the mistake isn't perhaps as important as how you face the consequences of your actions. clearly her goddess also does not require perfection - perhaps there's even a theological message in there somewhere as well.
Gosh, now you've got me thinking the authors just might be better at writing than I gave them credit for...
I've said this many times before, and I'll say it here too. Some of the characters (especially Zoey and the boys) are annoying, (just to let you know, I only read up to book 6 and when I started reading book 7, I don't know why I couldn't, so I stopped reading this series for now), from the books I read, Zoey is always complaining about her life, like when she got reunited with Stevie Rae in book 3 or 4 (I don't remember which), some people have real problems, who cares if Zoey's having boy trouble? I don't.
Another thing that I hate is, the racism, and that they're clearly making fun of people who are from Texas and Tennessee (I forget what they're called, I think it's southern), and country music is good (like Taylor Swift, I hate it when they make fun of country music, it's one of my most favourite genres).
Another is, the way they think teenagers act. Not all of us act like that, I graduated last year from high school, and I don't know anyone that says that many swear words in just a few sentences (there might be a few kids who do this, but not so many), and all those annoying pop culture references.
These people and so do the people who write tv shows about high schoolers, need to research more, because this is insulting to me.
No offense to the fans of this series, I'm just stating my opinions and I'm not trying to be mean, if that's what it sounds like.
Sorry about the long post, I'm just really annoyed about some books and they're authors.
I forgot to say, that I also hate how everyones always saying that Zoey is so powerful, but I don't think she is.From what I've read so far, the only way she can use her powers is when she calls them, in a real fight there's no time for that, that's all she has, where as heroins in other books are amazing and really dangerous, even though some of them don't even have powers. I mean, what would Zoey do if she can't use her powers for some reason, would she just stand there hoping that someone would defend her? I'm not saying that she should learn martial arts (although that would make her more useful and interesting), but she should learn to at least defend herself without relying too much on her powers too.
i liked it ok, but the characters where kinda annoying, the only two characters that i didn't find annoying where stark and stevie rae
First off I was terribly annoyed by the fact she was discriminating against emos and goth. I wanted to jump into the book and sock her in the face, super hard. Then I kept reading, and can I say she's just as annoying as Bella from Twilight?
ZOEY! And stark as well. And Shaunee and Erin at times. Damn, they were annoying. Love Aphrodite, REPHAIM♥♥ and Stevie Rae though :D
