Dawn Jayne | 13 comments I just finished Crossroads, by Mary Ting. It was a YA adult, and that was evident straight away. There was a fair amount of reader 'hand holding' with obvious things explained that didn't need to be. (like the old 'Guess' jean joke) Not sure what age range the author had in mind, but I did find some parts suitable for 8-10 range, if was that repetitive.
However, this was only complaint. The story was fresh, and I had a contended, satisfied feeling after reading the book. I enjoyed the characters, though some of the language choices migh've been unlikely for the age. I gave it 4 stars and will purchase the sequl.

I am reading P.A Minyard's The Beloved by P.A. Minyard The beloved and really liking it. It is not written like a regular novel. It's almost written like a movie. It's like watching a movie in my head. A refreshing change!!

You should read the next 3 books after Angels' Blood (Archangel's Kiss, Archangel's Consort and Archangel's Blade). It's really, really good! :))

Amy ~Lover of Books~ Finished Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor and I'm torn of how many stars to give this book at the moment too.

message 61: by Amy (new)

Amy Torn because it wasn't what you expected?

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 143 comments I finished An Agreement with Hell and it definitely has some angel elements. It's not as accessible a book as some that I've read, but it was pretty good.

Marie, I plan to read the whole guild hunter series. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Amy ~Lover of Books~ Amy wrote: "Torn because it wasn't what you expected?"

Torn as in a 3 or a 4 star book. I found the book to be a little weird in places, but found the story enjoyable for the most part. I decided to give the book a 3 stars only because it took me some time to get into the book.

Amy, are there vampires in this series?

message 70: by Amy (new)

Amy Yes the premise of this series is basically the people are fallen angels which makes them vampires. LOL. So they are actually both.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 143 comments I'm reading Ascension (The World of Ascension #1) by Caris Roane right now. Not quite angels, but the guys in these books have a warrior angel vibe going on.

message 78: by M. W. (new)

M. W. Rowe | 3 comments I have written a novel based upon an angel who is sent to earth to guide a young man as he deals with his troubled life. They end up getting closer than they should and some of you might enjoy this. You can get it on the kindle at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fallen-From-G...

message 84: by Dawn (new)

Dawn Jayne | 13 comments I'm reading Angelfall, haven't gotten too far but I love it so far! It's very unique, the setting is a post-apocalyptic would where angels have killed and destroyed almost everything.

message 85: by Amy (new)

Amy I just finished reading Fallen in Love by Lauren Kate. It's book 3.5 in the Fallen series. Four short stories about the angels and their past.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 143 comments I read a few Angel books in over the past couple of months.

Archangel's Kiss (Guild Hunter, #2) by Nalini Singh

Surrender the Dark (The Dark, #1) by L.A. Banks

Darwin's Children (Darwin's Children, #1) by Natasha Larry a slightly different twist on angels. They are called Guardians and what humans consider to be angels.

Amy ~Lover of Books~ I just started Hallowed (Unearthly, #2) by Cynthia Hand and I'm loving it so far! Currently on page 99!

Amy ~Lover of Books~ I finished The Space Between by Brenna Yovanoff last night and I really liked it. This book had a combination of angels and even demons.

message 89: by Amy (new)

Amy I loved that book as well. Creepy but such a good story.

Another one I recently read was Embrace (The Violet Eden Chapters, #1) by Jessica Shirvington which was awesome!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 143 comments Looking forward to reading The Space Between!

Amy ~Lover of Books~ Lady Danielle aka The Book Huntress wrote: "Looking forward to reading The Space Between!"

I almost gave the book 3 stars, but what stopped me was because I loved how the author ended the story so I bumped it up to 4 stars.

message 93: by Sandra "Jeanz" (new)

Sandra "Jeanz" I have read Crossroads by Mary Ting , Between (Crossroads Saga, #2) by Mary Ting and recently read an arc of Beyond (Crossroads Saga #3) by Mary Ting and have to say I loved each book more than the last. They are well written, descriptions of the scenery etc are so good you can visualise the scenes easily. Beyond is released on Sept 12th 2012. If you haven't already read this series, then I would recommend it to you, its YA, Angels at its best!

message 94: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 2 comments Thank you Sandra for posting these books. I've been looking for something new to read. These def sound like really good books.

I. Reid | 1 comments I just finished reading a book on my Kindle called "Angel of Death." It's apparently the first part in a trilogy about a Reaper and the Angel of Death. It was awesome, I loved it. If you're after a book about angels and the grim reaper, don't go past this.

Angel of Death (Reaper Series, Book 1) by G.P. Burdon
