SOLVED. Book from the 90's about Woman imprisoned in foreign country falls in love with military guy in cell next to hers [s]

I'm looking for a book that came out possibly in the 90's. It was a contemporary romance about a young woman who was taken prisoner in a foreign country. She was put in a cell next to another cell holding a military man whose jet was shot down. They both comforted each other by talking and holding hands through the bars. Eventually as the war that was waging through the country got closer the jail was hit by a grenade and they were able to escape and make it to the U.S. embassy. Any help figuring out the title and author of this book would be so appreciated.
