Richard | 32 comments I read a very good book called 'The Second Son' by Charles Sailor several years ago. I knew at the time this author was a 'one hit wonder' but today I spent about an hour on the Internet and I found out NOTHING at all about him.

So my question is: Does this guy really exist or is he from the Twilight Zone?!

Richard | 32 comments FYI: Web link for additional info (with many spoilers) on this book: http://www.mondo-video.com/books-that...

This shit is scaring me. It is too late at night for me to look at this scary shit. I will check it out in the daytime so I don't get too freaked out. Just looking that the picture you posted is scaring me - looks like a demon looking over a railing or something with a crucifix in the background and a man burning below. I need to leave this Twilight Zone stuff alone for now.

Richard | 32 comments Good Luck on your search! I figured that if anyone could find out something on this guy, you could do it.

The book cover that freaked you out is suppose to show the main character at his job as a iron worker, with two I-beams set-up like a cross. The pictures at the bottom of the cover show actual scenes from various points in the book; which I thought was a nice touch. Use the link below to see what I mean.

Yeah, I don't know - strange there is no information about him. He is not listed as an author on Fantastic Fiction where i usually go for info and internet searches bring up nothing. He has only written this one book.

Sometimes the author starts the equation: Charles Sailor was one-third through his messianic thriller The Second Son when his money ran out. The author went to MGM and two days later had a deal: $325,000 plus 5% of the producer's gross and a role in the film, plus a $200,000 advance from Avon publishers for paperback rights. "If you come to the studio with something written down, they'll pay more," says Sailor. "They know you could take it elsewhere. It's easier for them when you're selling air."

Read this book review blog:

http://stacybuckeye.wordpress.com/200...

In the comments is some information from someone claiming to be the Charles Sailor's daughter and the comments are recent from August 2011. A Facebook fan page is mentioned.

This Sydney, who claims to be the daughter keeps mentioning that something is coming and throws the date of 9/23/11 out there. btw, the bookcover isn't scary now that I can see the enlarged version :-)

Richard | 32 comments Wow Dustin, I'm impressed by your diligent research. I had found the Time magazine article but not the other stuff.

This Sydney is playing things VERY mysteriously and isn't giving out any info on her father. We'll see if Sydney's comment on something coming out later this month is real or BS.

BTW: Charles Sailor is listed in the credits of a Charlie's Angels episode (see 30 second mark of video link), so I suppose he does exist. Still wonder why there is no info on him.

Richard | 32 comments FYI: I posted a message for Sdyney on the Facebook fan page and very quickly heard back from her. As before, she said she is Charles Sailor's daughter and that a digitial copy of his book is coming out soon.

Have you tried sending Sydney a Facebook message? Go right to the source - doesn't hurt to ask :-) Maybe you can get a mailing address that fans where fans could contact Charles Sailor. Be sure to post here with any reportable news. I guess I better add The Second Son to my "to-read" shelf.

I did hear from Sydney (see my prior message) on her father’s Facebook page. In fact we exchanged a number of messages there. I can definitely recommend the book; if you can find it.

I just checked out your Facebook posts - nice job mentioning this amazing Dean Koontz group and sharing a link to Goodreads :-)

I'll soon be able to get a digital copy if I can't find a printed copy and it sounds like a new book is also likely to be released in addition to The Second Son ebook :-)

Richard | 32 comments Looks like you're right about the new book. I checked Sydney's Facebook page (link below) and there is a September 12th posting about the new book.

FYI to everyone: I was lucky enough to get Charles Sailor to autograph my copy of his book, 'The Second Son.' Perhaps one day the signed book will be worth something but I'll just keep and treasure it.

Thanks Randy for taking care of this for me. I greatly appreciate it!

I'm not even sure where that is - I'd have to look at my Colorado Map. I think it's down south somewhere. I don't get out of my Boulder Bubble much :-) Goodreads says you're 111 miles away.

Good work on your inquire to Charles Sailor. He is very much alive and well and you'll be hearing more from him from now on, he has released a new book, The Man Who Rode the Tiger, and continuing to write again. He has contracted FunCitySocialMedia (the company I work for) to head up publicity and promote his eBook sales.

In fact, since you guys are such faithful fans, if you want to get paid to review the eBook of his new one, here is some info on doing just that... http://FunCityStuff.com

Renee (txtade) | 1 comments Have any of you read Charles Sailor's latest book The Man Who Rode the Tiger?

I would love to get feedback. I could not put it down.

It is rumored that Charles is about to re-release The Second Son to print but we will have to stay tuned to see for sure.

Sorry Renee, I've been VERY busy lately looking for a new job but I plan to read it later this year. It's good to know that you liked it; that's a good recommendation.

As for 'The Second Son', I know that it was released on Kindle but I haven't heard about a new book release.
