I haven't personally read The Notebook, but I have seen the film and I agree that A Walk to Remember is the better of the two. I saw both the movies before reading either of the novels and just from that I liked A Walk to Remember so much better. All of my friends were so in love with the movie the Notebook, but I could never see why. Sure I thought it was a good movie, but it didn't stand out to me. However, the first time a saw A Walk to Remember I fell in love with it. It was the cutest movie I've ever seen. I've watched it so many times now that I can't even count them, and I still cry every time.
I finally read the book last year and loved it just as much as the movie or more. I think because I saw the film first and have always loved it I for once enjoy both the novel and film basically equally. There are differences between the two but I think I like that. They are just different enough.
All this being said I have not read The Notebook, so I'm not sure I'm allow to say it's not as good, but this is just how I feel based on what I've seen and read.
I liked the notebook much better, but A Walk to Remember and the Notebook are my two favorite Nicholas Sparks books
I think I liked this one better than the The Notebook because I was not familiar with the story. With the The Notebook, I had seen the movie and knew what to expect so it wasnt a huge surprise.
I love The Notebook, one of my favorite books ever. The movie was good but not entirly true to the book.
I enjoyed both works, but A Walk to Remember is my favourite. There was something about it that the Notebook didn’t have. I think it's the sweet love aspect, as the Notebook involves a more passionate affair. I also love the idea of the school rebel falling for the town and school Samaritan, and they way Landon changed during their relationship. (I’m slightly biased in that I’m a fan of Mandy Moore’s music though!)
I have read both a walk to remember and the notebook after I sae the movies. And a walk to remember is my favorite.
A Walk to Remember is definitely better in my opinion. I like the way the characters 'grow' in this story. The Notebook bored me; can't really explain why.
I was also dissapointed with the book (The Notebook), I thought the movie was much better. But A Walk to Remember was absolutly gorgeous!
Autumn wrote: "I didn't really like the Notebook. I think that it's actually my least favorite Nicholas Sparks book that I've read."I absolutely agree with you Autumn. I think Noah as a character is very romantic, but I can't ever look past the fact that she was a CHEATER!! No matter how she felt about seeing Noah again, she cheated on her fiance at the time and I can't ever condone that. I feel like Noah could have done better honestly.
The Books vs. The Movies A Walk to Remember: I saw the movie in the theaters when I was 13. And I remember loving it. It was before I knew who Nicholas Sparks was and I remember I didn't know it was a book. But when I did find out that it was a book too- I think I was 16, I decided to read the book and I loved it. It was very different- I think I might like the movie better but I still give the book two thumbs up...
The Notebook- I saw the movie first and instantly fell in love with it. I actually also saw in the theaters- twice. I was 16 and both times I fell in love with it. The Notebook is my favorite movie of all time- I love, love it! I recommend it for everyone. It is a true classic. Now the book, was not a good book. I hated it. I read it 2 weeks after I saw the movie and it was such a let down. Nothing like the movie...different ending...basically in the movie I felt their love. In the book- I barely felt their like.
A walk to remember and The Notebook are just two very different plots. A walk to remember was more of a high school love with a sad ending, and The Notebook was more of a mature relationship that was real, and had a happy ending even though it was rather sad to read about her memory loss. I would say it depends on the mood you're in. They are both interesting and grab your full attention. :) read both:)
I have read both the books and watched both the movies. I feel The notebook (Novel) was way more adorable than A walk to remember.

You can't go wrong with Nicholas Sparks. He is an awesome romance writer. "Notebook" hit me hard as I have seen many elderly having to deal with Alzheimer and the lose of memories. "A walk to remember" helped me to value my time on this earth for our days are numbered. Sparks lives in the real world, so his novels hit close to home. Keep on reading or watching his movies.
I love reading Nicholas Sparks books. He is such a talented author. In my opinion, A Walk to Remember and The Notebook are equally good love stories. A Walk to Remember shows that love happens when you're least expecting it, with the person you least expect to fall in love with. It shows the real meaning of true love with Jamie is diagnosed with cancer.
For the movies, I like A Walk to Remember better. I swear I have the entire movie memorized. I do like The Notebook though. As for the books, I read A Walk to Remember after I saw the movie and I did not like that it was different from the movie. I haven't read The Notebook yet...
I love both because I love Nicholas! For the movies, I love A Walk to Remember more. The book was good, but just not as good as the movie. As for the books, I love the Notebook! :)
I have read both, in fact, I picked up A Walk to Remember because of the good reviews I read. However, I find that the A Walk to Remember lacked a deep storyline and it ended pretty rapidly. I felt like I was beginning to understand Landon and the story ended. So, I would definitely choose Notebook as my favourite Sparks book!
Push - never saw either movie. Enjoyed both books. Different perspectives on life and love but both moving and thoughtful. I don't think either is better because the experiences are not exactly comparable. A Walk To Remember leaves her life/death to be debated. Perhaps the Notebook is simply more realistic and therefore uncomfortable?
OH NO NO...The Notebook has great substance. This "A Walk To Remember" is just a nice love story, heart warming, very predictable because the story was beginning to drag in the middle, so an "event" was required to polish it off. Mandy Moore was excellent in the movie version. I liked this book, but The Notebook is a masterpiece...It's got poetry, depth and great insight. The Notebook is my best book.

"A walk to re..."I agree with you. It's not just the Romance but most of all the Reality of life and that every breath is an intake drawing one closer to the end, and that the only thing which death cannot erase is the Love in one's heart.
I have not read The Notebook, but I have seen the film and I believe that A Walk to Remember is the better story of the two! However, I did enjoy both movies. I love/admire the character of Jamie much more than Allie, which is why I think A Walk to Remember won me over.
The first time I read this book was when I was just starting out middle school and that was like 4 years ago, and honestly I don't remember much about it but the movie is one of my favourite movies of all time.I've never read the Notebook yet nor have I seen the entire Notebook movie but by the reviews they're both good. Just A walk to remember is better. :P <33
I thought The Notebook was better..both book and movie respectively. I enjoyed the characters a lot more and the ending was a treat.
I have read both the books "Walk to remember" and "Notebook." I had read the book first and then i saw the movie so....i found Walk to remember as an amazing book and about Notebook, i saw the movie first and that was long time back.....i saw the movie, didn't have much understanding about the movie so got myself the book and when i read it...It was just wonderful. Its like whenever i read Mr.Sparks book i have always had an amazing feeling and all his books that i have read(Walk to remember, notebook, wedding, message in a bottle, night in rodanthe, dear john, the bend in the road...) All these books have a special place in my life and YES! I AM A BIG FAN OF NICHOLAS SPARK!!! I love his books and am looking forward to read the rest of the books......
i know that everyone loves The Notebook but i didn't enjoy the book as much as i expected to, i have read nearly all his books and i preferred a walk to remember over this

I love Walk To Remember so much more than The Notebook! I think Jamie was an all around better character!

Definitly
He was a really believable character and the book had more emotion than the notebook did
Not a chance. The Notebook is incomparable, i loved both the book and the movie. Although i'd also say A Walk To Remember is a great great book. Those two probably what made me fall in love with Nicholas Sparks.
On movie's prospective notebook is better but on book' prospective a walk to remember is better. overall I liked both equally.
A Walk to Remember is an exceptional novel, as is The Notebook. But I tended to like the former the best, the characters reminded me of a good friend, also just out of high school.
I read a walk to remember the previous year through my school library. and in my opinion, A Walk to Remember is a very easy-to-read story as compared to the notebook. In the notebook sometimes you don't understand the switch between the old and the young side although I liked the ending of the notebook better than the ending of a walk to remember.

On the other hand, I love A Walk to remember, the book is better than the movie but I just love how the author told the story from a teen perspective.
Which one did you like better, A Walk to Remember or the Notebook? many people have a broad range of opinions.
