Life Itself/randomness
I wish I could give blood but I have anemia so my iron levels are always low. :(. But I am not afraid of needles thanks goodness. Esme I do give you a thumbs up for going for it anyway. I also thought about being a psychiatrist but stayed with my love of animals and am going the veterinarian route. Also A whole bunch of thumbs up for SBG people on the internet can get so out of hand sometimes.

Esme has an irrational fear of needles, but the oh-so-noble child she is, she glomps along to the donation table and flashes everyone a too-white smile as she says: if I can do it, you can too! Go donate some blood, and save a life.
And then her wannabes all sign up. But the actual day of the pricking, she pretends to be sick, starts to have a panic attack and shaking about two hours before, and then screams like a mofo when they tell her to squeeze the beanie ball. And kicks several people in the groin with her six inch stilettos.
But I digress. Esme, don't give blood anymore.
Has anyone done plasma? A lot of people from school I know do it twice a week for extra $. It takes about an hour and they work on their homework. That would be great time for reading :) but I still don't think I could do it.
Go away Justin.
And I know some girls who give plasma on a regular basis. It's not bad, but it can have pretty dangerous side effects if you don't take care of yourself. Like, you can't just skip meals on whim, or get hammered one night. And I don't think it's a good idea on a long-term basis, because don't you need more of your plasma as you get older?

Saw this in a newsletter today. Found it to be funny and thought I would share.

Most of you know I work at a CPA firm. This is so random (and I find it funny).
The Mrs. Utah pageant is being held in Hurricane this Saturday. I always noticed on Miss America and such that the voting was tallied by a CPA office. Our office was chosen to tally the scores for this. :)

okay another random thing.
Yesterday was preschool graduation for my little niece and highschool graduation for my brother-in-laws youngest sister. The faculty speaker at the highschool one was amazing. I love my high school English teacher but I think this one would have given her a run for her money.

Anyway, I need to get over this cold quickly. Does anyone have tips? Types of food I can eat, drink, etc?

I agree with Daisy, keep hydrated (good hydration, not red bulls or soda) and take your vitamins. There is a supplement you can find at most health food stores that is colostrum in tablet form. It is supposed to help the immune system, but it also helps your body use the vitamins you are taking. Good Luck! Hope you kick it soon.

I just scanned and uploaded about a dozen pictures from back a few years ago to Facebook. I look at them and think I am so glad I am not there again, but at the same time miss those times. Do any of you do this? Doesn't make a bit of sense to me.

Anyway, I'm in the musical, Parade by Jason Robert Brown. It's about the murder of Mary Phagan and the Leo Frank case. Any other history geeks here that know about the trial? I've been doing research about it and I've found myself thinking about it constantly. It's fascinating.

Thanks!

Sure, why not? Sounds fun. A nice break from being "normal" all the rest of the time. I wonder what kind of promotions they will have Monday? It is actually on my calendar, it is "Talk Like a Pirate Day."
This is book related, but still totally random. I left the house this morning WITHOUT my current read! I know I don't always have time to grab a few minutes to read at work breaks, and today has been one of those days I really can't but still......I almost feel as if I am not fully dressed or missing an arm or something. Goodness! I think there should be a 12 step program for this.

Lol, yes, I think you're in pretty good company here! I don't feel whole unless I take a book with me if I go out. Even when I know I won't have time to read it. Good thing it's almost time for the weekend :)

Still can't get the picture to post so here is the link to where I saw it.

Here is mine. :)

Lori, since I am pretty sure what one of you books would be, you could always put Rhett and Scarlett at the top. :)
Kimberly, I hadn't heard of Pinterest, so I checked it out. Love the poddle skirt. Completely random! I had my mom make me one in 7th grade for Halloween and ended up wearing it for normal clothing. :) Had the saddle shoes, swiped her lettermans sweater (wrong year but it matched) and everything. I was a little odd.

haha, thanks Tami. :) This year's Halloween costume. Loved it, except for the fact that I had to show my ID multiple times to convince people that I was over the age of 18. I looked like I was 14, instead of 22.
And the story about your poodle skirt. hehe. Cute. :)
I was reading an article in the Wall Street Journal on tips to save $10,000 in a year. This one made me laugh.
Cut back on new books. Fed up with paying $15 or more for the latest novels, even on your Kindle or Nook? Your correspondent likes to download classics from Gutenberg.org for free. And Amazon.com will sell you used paperbacks for about a dollar. Savings: $200 a year.
I am ashamed to say that if I did this, my savings would be much more than $200 per year.

I'm a big baby too. My friend took a video of my screaming and screeching and freaking the new volunteers out because the old ones were used to it. lol.
