I recently read a really good book about a Grim Reaper called First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones. It's very witty, endlessly entertaining and well written.

I also just started reading a book called Death most definite about a Grim Reaper.
It's pretty good so far.

OH, I didn't know that Joe Black was based on a book. Thanks Patti, I'll check it out. I loved that movie by the way!

I did a bit of looking and it appears that it was only a screenplay :( and Meet Joe Black was a remake of the original movie - Death Takes a Holiday.

Great Thanks Danielle :)

I am assuming the Grim Reaper is male but maybe that's wrong?
And I also really liked Meet Joe Black.

I know I'm all for it! The Wisdom of Evil, my second novel is about The Grim Reaper and a woman who suffers from Thanatophobia( obsessive fear of death.) When he becomes a real flesh and blood enemy, she is caught in a deadly cat and mouse game with him. The Reaper is fascinating myth!

October Dreams: A Celebration of Halloween
I just read a cute story about a man catching Death in a trunk on Halloween in order to keep him from getting his wife.

I know I'm coming to this thread a little after the fact, what with the last post being 2012, but I just thought I'd share anyway.
In some mythology, the Grim Reaper is actually an angel, the Angel of Death. I've portrayed the Grim Reaper as such in my fantasy novel, "Angel of Death" which is the first book in a trilogy.
