Can you self publish under pen names on Amazon and/or Smashwords?

I have an account for my pen name which I do not use to buy. Then I have an account that I use for purchases and reviews. Never the twain shall meet except for the bank info.
I really don't think you can have two Penn names under one account because when you change your pseudonym, it changes for everything else you have done (all previous reviews go under the new name).
Could be wrong though!

On Amazon I'd've thought it was just a matter of publishing the books through your normal account and then you'd have to set up the author page etc separately, but just cos the books were published on the same publisher account doesn't tie them together anywhere the public can see I think, unless you use one of your normal ISBNs bought for the first persona. If you haven't done that or if you're going with Createspace / Smashwords ones, I don't see where they'd connect you up, offhand.
For posting and reviews you'd have to make a separate log-in for each name, but for the actual kdp stuff I'd say not.
Best to check, obv, but offhand that's my guess.

I think it depends whether you have your author's hat on or your publisher's hat; author central is for the author's hat or hats, so you have a profile for each name.
KDP is for when you have your publisher's hat on; as a producer of manuscripts by different named authors (even if both of them are yourself) you can have one profile on kdp that publishes books by whoever.I may be wrong of course, but that's my understanding of it.
Y'know, the other thing would be to do the whole Iain Banks thing, and just have an extra initial for your villagey stuff.

As for Smashwords, yeah, you probably need a publisher account, although they're working for authors that use multiple pen-names... so you don't have to have 10 accounts! ;-)

I ask because my main thing is writing horror, but every now and then I feel this urge to write about vicar's wives, jam-making and garden parties, so I think I need more than one identity!
