Originally printed BEFORE the Twightlight series,(e.g.-1965) it's a shame that after the first several chapters, it loses what I thought was the jest of the story...the book Ashmole 782...and its recovery...and AGAIN it's a series....will it get any better????

This was the second book that I have bought on audio and I thought it was superb! The characters were well developed, the plot was well thought out, and I can't wait for the second book!

I really enjoyed this book, finished it in a weekend. I picked it up on a recommendation from a friend. I was very tired of the vampire genre and did not enjoy the Twilight Series. I thought they were poorly written. This book mixed the vampires, witches, mystical, Salem Witches (one of my favorite history topics) and made a pleasant read. Looking forward to the second one. Any idea when it is to be released?

I thought this was a good read. Different and more mature than most vamp/witch books ...like Sookie or Anita, Twilight and Harry...somewhat more believable. Seeking more explanation and will probably get it within the trilogy. Lots of plots lines to follow.

I loved this book. I can't wait for the next one to come out. It was so nice to read a book that is an adult paranormal book without all the "OMG, He's so hotttt cause he's a vampireeee" stuff. I like YA too but after a while it gets old. This was a good change. I really enjoyed it.

I read this book because I was hoping it would be more like 'The Historian' which I loved. This wasn't bad but I don't think I will rush out to get the 2nd one.

I loved it and, although I hadn't expected it, it was a discovery for me. Once or twice - especially towards the end - there were scenes missing for me, where I really wanted more detail and clarification between D and M but on the whole it was much better than I expected, as my reluctance to finish it (and tenancy to 'back'stitch') told me, and I am looking forward to the next one (so much so that I almost wish I hadn't read it until nearer the release of the next one).

I enjoyed this story a lot. Yes, it has it's moments where it drags a bit, and you are like, "ok get on with it" but when you pass that, the book was a great read. I loved the characters, and it left me anxious for the next. Maybe i am just easily entertained.

I just didn't get the hype over this book. I get it...she likes to row. And row. And row. Did you get the part where she likes to row? Plus, the supernatural yoga class was plain old ridiculous.

Picked this one up after it was suggested by a friend and was amazed at how well written it was. I loved the characters, story development, and how the author wove in so many different elements from history. This will definitely be a book that visit again and I cannot wait for the next one!

I loved the depth of character development. I really enjoyed this book and if I am being perfectly honest I am generally not a long book person.
After reading this and never having read any of the Twilight Series I was tempted to read them. No comparison. In contrast the books of the Twilight Series seemed shallow and well adolescent (I guess that's because that was the audience they targeted). I can not wait for the Discovery of Witches second installment!

I loved this book and can't wait to see what happens next in the series. I just wish the next book would hurry I cant wait to see what happens.

I think this is a really good book that involves more mature themes and i like the fact that includes mythological beings, and can´t wait for the second book

I enjoyed this book, and found it a quick read for its length. It's paranormal romance for grownups.

I was surprise that I would enjoy this book so much. It was well written i couldn't put it down. About a week and half after reading the book I found myself going back to read over parts that I really like.

where did you see that this was originally printed in 1967? The author would have only been about 2 at that time.

Personally, I found the story to be refreshing in its presentation and it was written well enough to keep me picking up the book between tasks so I guess I must be easily amused and entranced. I'm looking forward to the next one.
