ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) If you read the cover and title pages, you'll see that Charlaine Harris edited the Sookie Companion. She did write the novella starring Quinn. There is a Q&A session where CH does give answers to questions fans have repeatedly asked her. All the rest... the summaries of each book along with the private conversations between Bill & Eric (or Pam), etc were written by long time fans, NOT CH. Personally, I wish I'd have read it at the library and saved my money but I had it on preorder from Amazon. Had I known CH didn't write the whole bloody book, I wouldn't have wasted my money on it. I feel a bit ripped off and cheated in a way because from all the hype, I expected more from CH herself.

message 152: by Sheri (new)

Sheri I got the Companion from our library solely for the short story. I did't even flip through the rest of the book. I've read a couple of other series' companions, and generally don't like them.

That being said, I can understand why Quinn would be out of the running now, which makes me sad. I really like him!

I'd seen it in my local bookstore but hadn't had a chance to look at it as they'd put it on the very top shelf - and I can only just reach the second when I'm in heels :( If it isn't totally written by her then it's a bit of a con. There are a lot of tie-in books out there that are written by the "real" authors.

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) Yeah Nairabell, it did feel a bit like a con, considering all the hype by CH's press agents before it came out, why it was delayed, etc. I feel ripped off.

Riley Steel (rileysteel) | 10 comments i have to say i was really disapointed in the last book, these have been my favorites since they came out and i always gunned for eric but the last book was a real real bad attempt. :(

Forgive me for being late in this conversation but I have to agree. Sookie and Eric have chemistry (especially when he was his regular bad-ass self). I would love for them to hook up now that his memory is back.

Have you not read all the books yet?

Shannon (wckdktty) | 13 comments Originally I was thinking Quinn. But after getting caught up its Eric. Although I would love to have Eric myself.

message 164: by Kiersten (new)

Kiersten Fay (kierstenfay) | 293 comments I'm lost for Eric♥. I really don't like Bill. Quinn was in the running but he dropped off fast.

Kiersten wrote: "I'm lost for Eric♥. I really don't like Bill. Quinn was in the running but he dropped off fast."

Eric is the ultimate alpha male! I also don't care for Bill-too much deception. Quinn and Sookie are better as friends, I think.

message 166: by Adria (new)

Adria eric! hes so deep! even though he acts like meany! lol

message 167: by A.C. (new)

A.C. Warneke (forsakened) | 45 comments I think there will be some guy introduced in the last chapter of the last book - just some guy, a regular human with no super powers or wars to fight; good looking, solid, dependable, and Sookie will take one look at him and turn her back on the supernatural world that had disrupted her entire life.

She'll be broken and battered; he'll be the doctor. She looks at him, looks at the vampire standing there waiting for her to make a decision. Memories wash through her and she turns back to the doctor, smiles and slips her hand into hi and they walk off into the proverbial sunset.

the end.

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 839 comments Actually, I kind of like that A.C.

Except, I can't see the vampire world letting her go knowing all that she knows and knowing what she can do.

message 169: by A.C. (new)

A.C. Warneke (forsakened) | 45 comments I figure Bill and Eric owe her - and somehow manage to make it work. After everything she has done and gone through for them, the least they can do is let her go. :)

Vicky Richardson | 9 comments She should be with Eric he is so much better than Bill ever was

message 171: by Anika (new)

Anika (teddybear1) | 318 comments Eric or maybe A.C.

message 172: by Heather (new)

Heather | 4 comments I think she should end up with Alcide. Charlaine Harris has already said that Sookie will not be becoming a vampire, so as much as I realistically want her to be with Eric, there's that huge problem of Eric never aging, and Sookie will be. I think in the end it's either going to be her with Alcide, or Sookie making a point that all great love stories don't have to end with two people falling in love. :D

Sarah (knightofstories) (knightofstories11) Eric all the way. to me, there was no other option having read the books....ever since he got her that new pavement..haha! and concerning the aging thing:(small spoiler)
I really hope this thing she got (can't) remember will save her from aging or make him human....as I could never see her becoming a vamp-she wouldn't be Sookie anymore...
if the books left any other option: Alcide

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 839 comments I can't see Eric becoming a human. I don't think he would like it, he likes the power too much and then if he was human, he just wouldn't be Eric anymore.

Abby | 353 comments I haven't read the books yet but if I'm going by the TV series... I'd have to say Eric all the way lol

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 839 comments Pamela do you mean Eric? She isn't married to bill.

message 180: by NayNay (new)

NayNay Yes Sookie (Anna Paquin) is married to Bill (Stephen Moyer) in real life, they married in 2010.

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 839 comments I get it now. I thought she was referring to the booms not the TV show or re as l life.

message 186: by [deleted user] (new)

Since the series started with Bill I'd like to see them come full circle and be with each other again. And I will be around to console Eric.

message 187: by PM (last edited Mar 24, 2012 02:40PM) (new)

PM (personalmiracle) | 242 comments LOL I could agree to that! I said this earlier in the thread, but here is my idea of how it will end. I think she is going to adopt her cousin's little boy after his father is killed and live happily ever after with just him and lots of vamp etc friends. No Bill, no Eric, nada.

PS...BUT Bill will be forever waiting in the wings, hoping someday she'll change her mind about him.

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 839 comments It will be interesting to see how Harris decides to end the series.

Not too much longer and it will be out!

message 189: by PM (last edited Mar 24, 2012 05:09PM) (new)

PM (personalmiracle) | 242 comments It will be interesting. This series has a such great wealth of memorable, discussable characters, don't you think? I just love this whole world she has created. I feel like I have "known" Sookie and Co. for so long that I will miss them!

Debbie Davies (debbie16) | 16 comments what are the books like compared to the series on tv?

message 192: by mari (last edited Mar 29, 2012 09:33AM) (new)

mari nuvem (porcelania) | 8 comments I know I'm the exception but I thought she was a great match for Quinn. Honestly I don't like Sookie, she's annoying. She's not good enough for Eric, and not bad enough for Bill. She should just stay by herself I guess!

Debbie wrote: "what are the books like compared to the series on tv?"

The story line is different, and so are many of the characters. I prefer the tv series, the books are incredibly addictive but they're not very good in my opinion... I mean I love most of them but still, they aren't good

Artkdz Zelnio | 1 comments I'm still rooting for Sam. I tend to go for Weres over Vamps, though.

message 194: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (mrslaurenberry) I say Eric but as I've said in previous posts this is because I adore him. I don't think Sookie is good enough for Eric, but I want him to be happy :-)

message 195: by Erin (new)

Erin (erinaldacoyahoocom) | 6 comments I think Eric. But I really loved Quinn and wish she would have stayed with him.

message 196: by PM (new)

PM (personalmiracle) | 242 comments I agree Abigail! The TV series is more about shock value sometimes. Love the books, even though the last one or two seemed more like placeholders.

message 197: by Robin (new)

Robin (robinbourke) | 13 comments Sookie should end up with Eric. I like the series okay, but I have to constantly think of it as something entirely different from the books. It's hardly even recognizable as the same story! The books are a MILLION times better.

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 839 comments I thought the book in May was going to be the last in the series but I guess not. Looks like there will at least be another one or so Harris' website implies.

I am not sure what to think about that to be honest. As horrible as it sounds, I was sort of looking forward to the last book to see how it all ends, plus I really think the last two books could have been better, much better and I would hate to see a series I started off loving, ending up being one I can't finish.

message 199: by PM (last edited Apr 03, 2012 09:23PM) (new)

PM (personalmiracle) | 242 comments Oh, mlpmom, you know you will finish it, no matter how bad this next book is! You just HAVE to!
I agree, the last two books have been going nowhere, but I attribute that to her holding out on revealing the ending because it would adversely affect people's interest the TV series. So, I guess that means I believe she has sold out... LOL But I still think when she finally gets around to telling her ending for Sookie, it will knock our socks off.

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 839 comments I hate that you are right PM, I know I will have to finish it! :P

I think you are right, I do feel like she sold out so to speak and that does make me sad.

Here is to hoping this next book is as good as the first few were! I will keep my fingers crossed that it is!
