#53 - Really! I thought about this and wonder why MC wrote it this way. The only think I can figure out is she want the crowd to see Etienne for the cowardly evil person he was.
#55 - Really! (Oh, dear! I'm using that word again, LOL!) I think she writes a pretty good action-adventure with a HEA.

53. Are you f*ucking kidding me? Tell me Lucien did NOT just get a massive case of the stupids. Why didn't he just kill Etienne when he had the damn opportunity?! Because Etienne is an evil S.O.B. and Lucien has too much compassion to kill a repentant man.
54. Lucien now knows he's a daddy. Obviously there isn't time for a tender Hallmark moment, but how do you think they'll get on after the baddies get dead? I’m hoping Eduard will just survive! I think the poor kid needs a break and Lucien will do right by him.
55. That prison break was an epic c*ck up. Were you surprised how poorly it went? How about the level of violence and body count of good guys? Is this really even a romance at this point? I know!! How many are dead and I’m still waiting for the battle that was at the beginning of the book, when they were trying to get Servanne out of the prison.

53. completely agree! He's supposed to be a seasoned fighter and he didn't see that one coming?
55. Lol! I was thinking the same thing... this is a bit too authentic!
@Shell's Bells re:post #251
55. I think you may be right, this is more of an epic romance than what I would classify a normal medieval romance.

Lisa, was it not my turn for questions?

#48 – Eek! I was thinking Nicolaa was slightly sicker than the Dragon, but it looks to me as if they are evenly matched. He is one sadistic SOB; guess he’s the Big Fuc#er, right? Servanne is battered and bruised and Eduard is in worse shape. Think they both will make it?
Yeah, Etienne is well established as the Big F*cker in this. They'll definitely both make it.
#49 – What is happening to Biddy? Is the Old Blister having a heart attack or stroke? What was all that about being dazzled by Servanne’s treasure box? Will she make it in time to tell the Wolf, or will Sparrow find her? All her info he already seems to know, right; or is there something else? Or, maybe about Eduard, but I’m not sure she got that he is the Wolf’s son.
Sounded like a heart attack to me. I think she's trippin' from it!
#50 – Stupid question, but do you trust the Dragon to keep his word and not order an arrow in the Wolf’s back, plus give back Servanne should he win?
Uh, no. Not at all. He ain't gonna keep his word on anything. Or, he'd give back Servanne in the dark ages equivalent of a body bag.
#51 – Were you surprised both Prince John and the Dragon let the little princess go, or did it make sense that neither wanted a war on their hands?
Made sense to let her go. She was just a cash cow and her mommy already paid out and sent an army to make sure no further negotiations would be needed.
#52 – Is the Wolf’s mind sufficiently on the challenge at hand to win the day? With regards to Guy de Gisbourne, will he “mark him well anyway if there is trouble” as Sparrow warns?
In Lucien's case, I think his rage definitely gave him an edge. Can't wait to see where Guy's character goes in the next book(s).
53. Are you f*ucking kidding me? Tell me Lucien did NOT just get a massive case of the stupids. Why didn't he just kill Etienne when he had the damn opportunity?!
*MASSIVE. HEADDESK*
54. Lucien now knows he's a daddy. Obviously there isn't time for a tender Hallmark moment, but how do you think they'll get on after the baddies get dead?
Lucien seems the type to want to settle down with a family after getting his revenge thing out of the way. I think they'll become very close.
55. That prison break was an epic c*ck up. Were you surprised how poorly it went? How about the level of violence and body count of good guys? Is this really even a romance at this point?
That was just a hot mess. I'm agreeing with the general consensus that this isn't a romance, it's more an epic historical fiction (which usually include sex).

#53 – Yes! The epitome of evil. Good point.
#55 – I’ve lost track of the body count – and there is more to come if you count those left behind.

#48 – Absolutely! Big Fuc#er and Big Buc#ette.
#49 – LOL! Maybe “tripping” for lack of O2 – ‘cause there was definitely no morphine.
#50 – A shroud? Yeah. You’re right.
#52 – Guy is in the next books? I wonder, with that set-up.
#53 – Your favorite, Sugar Bean. ‘Cause you’re so cute! (view spoiler)
#55 – Unanimous Consense!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

52. I'd think he'd have to be if we're going to see the "real" Robin Hood in the next book or two, right?
53. BWAHAHAHAHA!!! Epic! I love it. XD
55. Group mind meld. ^o^

I don't already have them Lisa Kay, just finished the book last night, but if you're doing the Q's for The Secret BR, I'm happy to take these. Thanks!

56. What did you think of the scene where Gil and Alaric were snogging in front of everyone??
57. Was there ever any doubt that Etienne would discover the way out through the wall? What about Nicolaa piping up with the perfect plan of attack? Really I hadn’t read a villainess this evil in ages! I’m trying to think of one that might compare to her for bloodthirst and general conniving b*thcniness.
58. Gil and Eduard have been sent down to get a boat, Sparrow has gone to get more men, De Chesnai has gone to get a wagon. It’s only Alaric and Lucien to free Servanne and we find ourselves back where we started. Was this scene richer for you now, or just the calm before the storm of the later skirmish?
59. Did you think anymore of the main character might not make it in the skirmish by the bay? Who?
60. What a fight! Ding dong, the F*ckers are dead! Yeeha! There were so many in the end who saved the day: if not for Biddy’s information, if not for Sparrow bringing the extra men when he did, if not for Alaric with the bow and Gil being the awesome-sauce secondary character that she is… Who has been your favourite secondary character?
60. Were you surprised with the plan to leave Bloodmoor and go back to France? What about Biddy’s survival?
61. Have all the loose ends been tied up to your satisfaction in this book? What would you like to have known more about before the end?

Chapters 28, 29 and Epilogue
56. What did you think of the scene where Gil and Alaric were snogging in front of everyone?? That's it?? They don't get their own book to work it out and explore all the pent up feelings? Ah man! I wanted more from them! Oh, and about damn time too!
Never any doubt, although I thought it was a little convenient for an escape. I know, right? I love Nicolaa for this fact! Good villainesses are hard to find!
First, I was so wrong about de Chesnai. He turned out to be a good guy to the end. I think the scene was a little richer in details, but the calm before the storm, knowing they were headed into an ambush, I knew they'd get her out, but after that, I gritted my teeth!
59. Did you think anymore of the main character might not make it in the skirmish by the bay? Who? Alaric came really close! And it sounded like Eduard was drowning, I thought he was going to, that poor kid has been through hell and back. His book will be interesting just because of him and all he's lived through.
LOL - I think they all were great, that's what I loved about this book so many great secondary characters! For me, I think Alaric is my favorite. I really am upset he and Gil won't get their own book.
60. Were you surprised with the plan to leave Bloodmoor and go back to France? What about Biddy’s survival? Yes, I really was, but I guess it makes sense. I kept picturing Lucien turning the place around to prosper, but bad memories are bad memories. I thought Biddy's survival was a little too miraculous. I thought for sure she'd have been collateral damage, but maybe that's just because I really didn't like her.
61. Have all the loose ends been tied up to your satisfaction in this book? What would you like to have known more about before the end? Well, I thought they had been, until the 'The End - Or is it?' part. Aside from just focusing on a different character, I don't recall anything important being left open, did I miss something?

56. What did you think of the scene where Gil and Alaric were snogging in front of everyone??
Hey, it was a “We who are about to die…” kind of moment. They were grabbing on to their last ability to tell the one they loved that they loved them. I would have done it too.
Nah, I knew he would. He is as smart as Lucien, just evil. Yeah, Nicolaa is pretty evil. In a romance book? I can’t think of a comparable villainess.
A richer scene now that I know the characters.
59. Did you think anymore of the main characters might not make it in the skirmish by the bay? Who?
I was worried about Eduard, de Chesnai and Alaric.
60. What a fight! Ding dong, the F*ckers are dead! Yeeha! There were so many in the end who saved the day: if not for Biddy’s information, if not for Sparrow bringing the extra men when he did, if not for Alaric with the bow and Gil being the awesome-sauce secondary character that she is… Who has been your favorite secondary character?
I liked Alaric.
60. Were you surprised with the plan to leave Bloodmoor and go back to France? What about Biddy’s survival?
It was sooooo weird, b/c I was thinking “If I were them, I’d head off to France.” And then they decided to! LOL! Biddy is going to die soon; hopefully in her sleep.
61. Have all the loose ends been tied up to your satisfaction in this book? What would you like to have known more about before the end?
Maybe I just can’t remember it, but what happened to Nicolaa’s husband, Onfroi de la Haye? Did he die or what? I can’t remember, LOL! I know we didn’t get a death scene, ‘cause there was not loving wife at his bedside.
Thanks, ladies! It was a wonderful “buddy read.” I don’t know if I would have stuck with the book if not for you all – and I am so glad I did. It was worth it. You made it more enjoyable.

56. What did you think of the scene where Gil and Alaric were snogging in front of everyone??
LOVED it. They finally got around to admitting it to each other and everyone else. I I just wish they got more page time as a couple.
No doubt. The big showdown had to happen and that was about the only way to get everyone there in one piece. I agree about Nicolaa!
It was richer. Knowing what was going to happen by virtue of the prologue made each step to that scene better for me. Of course, I love spoilers, so I'd have read ahead to the end anyway before going back to find out how they got there.
59. Did you think anymore of the main character might not make it in the skirmish by the bay? Who?
I was really worried about Alaric!
Let's not forget Richard of Rouen accidentally getting lost and just happening to end up on the beach! I liked Richard's little excuse/speech, it was a good tactic to use humor to break the adrenaline rush everyone must have been having.
60. Were you surprised with the plan to leave Bloodmoor and go back to France? What about Biddy’s survival?
Not surprised about leaving England for France. I would have too, with all those ghosts in Bloodmoore. I was surprised Biddy survived. I don't know what the heart attack survival rate back in the day was, but I'm betting it wasn't good.
61. Have all the loose ends been tied up to your satisfaction in this book? What would you like to have known more about before the end?
I think it ended well! I'd like to know what happened to Guy (looks like I was wrong about him making an appearance in the next books after reading the synopsis). I agree with Lisa - what happened to Nicolaa's husband? Did I totally fly by his death?

53. Are you f*ucking kidding me? Tell me Lucien did NOT just get a massive case of the stupids. Why didn't he just kill Etienne when he had the damn opportunity?! I agree with Lisa, I cannot believe he turned his back!!!!
54. Lucien now knows he's a daddy. Obviously there isn't time for a tender Hallmark moment, but how do you think they'll get on after the baddies get dead? I think they'll get along just fine, if they make it!
55. That prison break was an epic c*ck up. Were you surprised how poorly it went? How about the level of violence and body count of good guys? Is this really even a romance at this point? Yes, Alaric is suppose to be this master planner, but his whole plan was to just get in? No exit strategy? How convenient there was that hole in the wall. *rolls eyes* And I don't even think if Canham books as romances anymore, this is my second. I think of them more along the lines of epic sagas, like GWTW, only with a HEA, hopefully.
