The movie version sucks!

When Eragon was told to get out of the store by Sloan, Horst was supposed to pay for the meat and Eragon was supposed to say he would work it off in the summer. Also when they reached the Vardn, first they were supposed to call out in the ancient language, then when they got in the two twins were supposed to do that wierd mind thing-a-majig.

they should of made it into 2 movies and even so the casting was bad and so were the lines!! it was terrible! Sapphira had FEATHERS! And Arya had RED HAIR!
Not to mention it didn't stick to the plot line at ALL.
Arya wasn't an elf!!! and actually she had blond hair Sarah. she was supposed to have dark hair!!! GRRRRRRRR!!!

it's been about 2-3 months so i remember a LOT!!! i don't think i will be able to (no matter how much i wish it!!!) forget how bad the movie was!!!
Yeah, i know! it was horrendous! (it's been around a year since I last saw it)
it made me wanna cry!!! it was such an awesome book and they totally botched it in the movie!!
Well I saw the movie before reading the book and as you can imagine I was really surprised when I read it.
I hate it. Worst translation of a book to a movie yet. I mean it wasn't little things either. They made to where they couldn't make the rest of the series into movies. Someone needs to remake it and then make the rest into movies. They must have paid him a ton of money to just murder the book. I really think that the series is under appreciated. I've only read the first one, but I'm planning on reading the rest in the near future hopefully.

yeah in Percy Jackson they put the hydra in the wrong movie, (this comment might sound racist but i swear I'm NOT racist!!!) Grover was black, no Clarrise, no Dionysus, and Chiron had the wrong color horse half!!

When I watched the movie I never read the book and it STILL sucked. Idk why Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Percy Jackson are the only one's getting it right.

WHAT???!!!!! did you read the Percy Jackson books?? the movie was SOO wrong it made want to cry!!!!

Yeah...me and my friends like to refer to the Percy Jackson movie as "THE ABOMINATION"
ALRIGHT , ALRIGHT! I see your points. Sheesh. I'll go read the book then sit through the movie again. And could have been worse.
Oh my gosh! Do not get me started on how awful the movie was! I adored the books and the movie was just comical! They had so many facts wrong from the book! If i was Paolini, i would be ticked!
i watched the movie first and then my mom got me to read the book and i now have to agree that the movie sucks when compared to the book!

Jeremy Irons was the BEST choice for Brom, I totally agree! I think that the movie would have been good if it were not about Eragon, and if I hadn't read the book first. It was a good movie about a boy and dragon, but it was definitely NOT Eragon! I would like them to remake it with a larger budget, and better story.
The part that I hated the most was how Saphira grew up and learned to fly. I hated how they took all that out.

I didn't like the film compared to the book at all, because of the fact that Hollywood does change things around so much (and tried to make it into an epic battle movie like "Lord of the Rings", which never works sans Peter Jackson). But honestly, for having a monster amount of information to attempt to cram into under two hours of movie, and creating a script that could appeal to an audience who may not have read the book first, they didn't do a terrible, awfully bad job of it. Wasn't great, that's for sure, but it wasn't complete crap, either. They did change things in the plot around, especially with how characters were developed and introduced, but really, the movie would have been about five hours long if they had done everything as it was written. There was a lot of plot development that happened in the book that would have taken way too long to work out in the film.Still, the film was very awkward and rather rushed, probably because they spent way too much time with the battle scenes, which just felt really contrived, because that wasn't a huge part of the book at all. Really, it just felt like the script was trying to appeal to a certain audience or genre, and it didn't quite reach it.
if they do they need to seriously recast EVERYONE!! i don't agree with those of you who think Jeremy Irons was a good choice for Brom...
in the movie Brom was a creepy beggar dude :( and he wasn't old enough, Jeod wasn't in the movie, Angela was wrong, Solembum wasn't there, the Twins weren't there, Ajihad was wrong, the Sapphire Rose wasn't there, Arya wasn't an elf and her hair was wrong, Tronjheim wasn't there, they were in Darat and the foothills of the Beor mountains at the same time, Murtagh was wrong, Saphira didn't have the right personality, Roran was wrong and joined the army, Sloan was wrong, Katrina wasn't there, Horst wasn't there, Nasuada wasn't there, and there were NO dwarves!!!!! :( oops didn't actually mean to go on a rant there but that's what happened...

I kind of thought arya didn't look like how I thought she would, Brom looked correct though, eragon... meh, Galbatorix didn't look that bad, durza was good, Murtagh was good, i didnt like saphira's voice to be honest, sloan was good, they COMPLETELY missed out teirm, also i would have liked to see the bit near the start when brom and eragon meet a toll at a bridge and they pay, but brom takes the man's big purse. The urgals were all wrong, did they even INCLUDE dwarves? The ending was wrong, although they did leave it on a cliffhanger with galbatorix revealing shruikan which was good. Ajihad was close to perfection, they didn't include the twins OR the big sapphire in tronjeim, overall, some wins but majorly flawed, 2/10

Agreed. The movie did suck. It worse than sucked. It sucked so badly that there is no way to actually make the sequel unless the first movie is remade. The story was so altered that all of the necessary elements needed for the sequel no longer exist. Utterly crummy piece of cinema. A rape of the original story. Sad.

AMEN! The movie was the worst, It didnt stay close to the book that much and if they ever make another, they'll have to make plenty of corrections to the first movie!
It wasn't that bad, I mean it wasn't the best movie in the world. I agree it could have been better but it didn't suck.
