And doesn't it make you crazy when someone (thinks of my sister *cough*) says "No, I've never read it, but I did see the film!", as though that were tantamount to reading the book? Even in the case of Jackson's LOTR movies, which were actually pretty incredible adaptations, I would hate to think that someone might forgo reading the Tolkien series because of them. :(

It is baaaaaad, the voice of the dragon is ridiculous and to just hash the story and makeup your own ruined it completely. Read the book.
Brian wrote: "Don wrote: "If I judged the book by the movie then I would never have read the book. Thankfully I read the book first."

What else would he say? I am sure he made a nice little extra from it.

Pretty much the only good thing about the movie in my opinion.
Missing out the Roran/Katrina sub-plot just made it completely impossible to ever make a second film in my opinion. It was their love that led to Roran going after Eragon. Though not making a second film is probably a good thing...

I AGREE!!!!!!!!!

Do you think they'll ever try a fresh start on Eragon again so they can film it properly (with the intention of filming all the books?)

And I thought 'Eragon' was the name of the dragon on the cover. I also thought the dragon on the cover was a boy :P

agreed.

He couldn't. He sold it to the movie company so he couldn't have a say in what happened.
The film was shockingly awful compared to the excellent book. And all the story was wrong, like Eragorn and Ayra having feelings. Err didn't happen. Dissaponment :(

OMG I AGREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

hahahah, agreed, it sucked, they took out the everything that happened between the dragon growing up. they just swooshed him hrough the clowds and he was grown. just a bunch of bull. i got sooo mad when i layed eyes on it. this movie should have been rated r for intense violence.

OMG yaaaaaaaaaaaaa....

Looks similar. Short, flat and repeating itself plot. Huge battles simulated by 10 actors. Sparse and cheap special effects (though sf for flaying dragons are quite good). Really small budget (ok I just guess that, it they had big one then this is prime example of embezzlement). Poor camera handling. Most of the craftsmanship transfered from cheap TV serials. Whole movie feels like short tv serial putted in one long row, with "movie" stamp on it.
Eragorn should get crew responsible for The Lord of The Rings!
(I wish that this will not happens to ANY other book I like, ..., no, I do not wish such faith to even worst book)

lol i agree for the most part.

I'm going to guess "special "FX" effects" from the context, as I'm sure they don't mean "science fiction".
