It does feel like I've got to plough through some chapters, but others are much more engaging. To me there are too many digressions, but at this point the different characters are all beginning to come together in the plot -- but I still have half the book to go.

Christine | 971 comments I just finished Part 3, Book 2. This novel definitely does require some patience! After getting through the lengthy discussion of convents in Book 2, I was hoping we'd get back to the main story and characters. But it seems that now more characters are being introduced (along with more politics and thoughts about the nature of Paris). I am keeping the faith that this will all be woven together in the end in an amazing way! ;-)

I feel for Gavroche....

And all those parts about Gamine if Paris was a bit distracting and I read some lighter books as diversion. .
