I read this one last weekend and watched the movie on Monday. I enjoyed this book. It takes you through a roller coaster of emotions! I recommend reading this before you watch the movie. Enjoy!
Best book i've ever read. Although the movie is out the book is just something else. Male writer - wonderful emotion.
Oh my, I read it, you are gonna love it... full of emotions... it's pretty good. I'm kind of scared to see the movie but I want to.
I read it and I liked it! I agree with Calila; it is so full of emotions. I would wholeheartedly recommend it.

I am reading this book now, it was a little slow for me in the first couple chapters but once the characters began to take shape it became a really good read.
OK just finished it and bawled like a baby.... I had a hard time finishing the book after ya know. I think I want to go see the movie now to get all the crying out of the way...ya know since the band-aid is ripped off and the wound is still fresh...lol
OK, I read it last year before I even knew the movie was coming out and it was one of the slowest books I've ever attempted to read. I couldn't get into it, and it just became one of those books I HAD to finish because I was already halfway through it. Story was okay, it was just repetitive and dragged on and on.That said, I'll probably rent the movie to see how it differs. Hopefully it will go faster than the book!
Here's my reaction after I read the book: You can't wait for your life to fall into place, you just gotta seize the moment, and take the opportunities that presented to you. There no such thing as "I gotta figure out my life before I can have a relationship. etc." You will be too late.

It should have ended much sooner than it did. (I won't say exactly when because I don't want to spoil it if you hadn't read it.)I wouldn't read it again but overall it was ok.
i just finished it,it was pretty good!i have to agree that the first few chapters were slowly progressing but gradually the characters got really interesting n' explored a whole range of emotions which captivated me!i also liked the movie but i think it'd be better to read the book first!:)
I really enjoyed it and made sure i read it before dealing with the movie version. I found it to be a really quick read that tugged at the heartstrings.
I read it and really enjoyed it. It is quite the tear-jerker, though! Haven't seen the movie yet....for those who have, does it stay true to the book?
I saw someone reading it on a train and just got drawn to it by the cover. I then looked online to read what it was about, thought it sounded quite good s looked for somewhere online that sold it quite cheap incase it wasn't my cup of tea. I can't remember what I paid for it but I did enjoy it when I read it and I look forward to the film. I sometimes feel watching the film after the book is disappointing but I'm still going to watch it, just incase it isn't.
I loved this book, so heartbreaking, surprising and funny. I've not seen the movie but have heard that it isn't very good. The timeline/conceit that works so well for the book fails to work onscreen. And, personally though I like Anne Hathaway, she's not the right actress for the part. I'd definitely read the book before renting the film.

I've just finished this and really enjoyed it. The characters are well drawn and you either love 'em or hate 'em. I haven't seen the film but not sure I want to - I might be disappointed.

This is a wonderful book. It grabs your heart from the very beginning and doesn't let go it until the end. It is a deep heartfelt love story. This is a book you will be glad you read.
It wasn't a good read at all, the characters weren't likeable, I wanted to give them a push to get a move on, it was very slow and pedantic.
I really had to force myself to finish it. The male character was good in the beginning, but by the end I just wanted him to be hit by a bus!Not one I would recommend to be honest. The characters didnt grab me, so I didnt really care what happened to them. The only bit I liked was the beginning where they were on holiday, after that it hit the skids!
I loved this book so much. Its an engaging story and you'll be surprised what can happen in 20 years.
If you came of age in the eighties or early nineties then you get it, if you didn't then you may not. It's a great concept pulled off with a good inherent structure, internal continuity and above all superbly written. It's true to life fiction of the best kind. well worth a read
Loved the book, saw the movie first. Wished I had read the book first. It does take you on an emotional ride, I read it in days. It is still on my bedside table, I work at the library and was going to donate it but can't seem to part with it.
Loved the book! It took me awhile to get into it at first but once I did I was hooked! Going to get it on redbox tomorrow!! This book made me laugh and cry, AMAZING! Gave my copy to my best friend to read!
Phaedra221 wrote: "Am I the only one who thought this book was a waste of time?"Nope, I thought so too. It was like reading about 2 train wrecks that they were calling lives, then it was tied up with a pretty bow and then untied. Plus the characters were really whiny and very unrelatable.
I loved this book. I was so depressed when it ended because I thought I would never find another book I liked as much as I did this one.
