Mortal Instruments & Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare

The Clockwork books (Infernal Devices) is a spinoff series that's historical, but there are crossover characters. Also, the last two listed are not out yet.

I think probably because Charlotte and Hanry's relationship felt so different from Molly and Arthurs. Mea..."
Yeah that's where they do differ for me too. Obviously Molly and Arthur have no doubts in their minds about each other. I just see Charlotte as the mother figure, like Molly, and I guess the muggle stuff compared to inventions (and the red hair haha) attach Henry to Arthur for me. (Not sure if that made sense haha.)
Its funny I never really thought about the Simon/Harry thing. Maybe because they are so different? Though in Simon's defense he's not the same kid he was in book 1.
And now that I think of it, I see similarities between Voldemort and Valentine too. (That's his name right? God I'm horrible.)

I didn't directly connect with Molly and Arthur either, but now that you mention it, I totally see it. And I wish I'd asked you before I began reading, Wendy!

And I agree. Valentine? Haha. Vol de mort in french means "flight of death" which I always found fun because I love studying French :)

Maree, LOL, I still read the books. I'm actually reading

HOW DID I NOT REMEMBER THAT? lol, that was kinda weird.

I constantly forget story details. It's one of the negatives of reading too much. Things start to blend together.

'“Which are you more nervous about City of Heavenly Fire or Clockwork Princess?
— oneofthenightchildren”
— In terms of “when they come out, how will people react?” I guess Clockwork Princess, because the ending gave my critique group a lot of “AAAAA!” (although everyone agreed it was the only way it could end, but I still rewrote it about 1,000 times) whereas CoHF isn’t finished. So without myself knowing exactly how the ending plays out, even if I do know what happens, I can’t guess how people might react. Mostly people react to the execution of something rather than the idea.'

There's always Wikipedia if you don't want to reread.

We normally recommend reading ID book 1 after the first 3 MI books, then reading the next MI, then ID and so on because that's the publish order and the way that the author wrote the criss-crossing hints. But you don't have to do it that way and won't be lost if you read one series over another first.
I wasn't a big fan of the Jace casting either looks-wise but I do like Jamie Campbell Bower's attitude about the role. He seems like he's really into playing the character, which is always nice to see.

Glad he's really into the role and I can't wait to see how he brings Jace's character to the screen.

So the order is actually like this:

But that's only if you want to read then in the order that they were published, so you catch those cross-over's as they were intended, lol.
That's how I read them, and it made the cross over's more exciting, i think.

LOL I know how you feel!! I just finished! I need to talk about it. How is everybody doing? When can we talk somewhat freely?

You're welcome to discuss now, just mark any big spoilers.

But the epilogue does make me wonder about the events in the final TMI book - if something happens in that book to bring about the circumstance at the very end of the epilogue for CP2. Like (view spoiler) I think if that is the case then I'll be a little more forgiving of that whole situation being written into the epilogue (though I'd still have probably preferred it to come up in TMI#6 rather than in the epilogue of CP2). If that's not the case...I dunno. I'm conflicted. I just would have preferred subtle to absolute here, I think.

that epilogue! i actually loved it especially (view spoiler) ! but yup, it's been said more than once that clare sort of (view spoiler)

Regarding TMI, I'm curious also about (view spoiler) My favorite crossover was (view spoiler) . I thought that was lovely.

I had to do a game of thrones marathon last night to get over that epilogue lol.
