Theme Nominations for Group Reads

I've been talking up the James Rollins books, I'd nominate one of those. I think that would be in the same category as "National Treasure" with Nick Cage.
hmm... yes, I hesitate to say that because they are really much more than that on both counts, but I don't want to over parse things.
As long as we are talking in broad terms, that's a yes.

What category would you use to describe them?
Of course, we can do plan B and just do random nominations, but I thought it might help to have a theme to guide choices. What do you think?

oh, your a tricky one Lady D.
That's not easy. (and I said yes to Treasure Hunter theme)
Historical Myster-suspense? (which sounds lame now that I type it) maybe Historical Conspiracy?
or in this case... treasure hunting sounds pretty good about now.

That's a good list to start. We can make some more nominations when we run through these, unless someone is dying to add to the list.
I will try to get the poll up on Sunday, so get your noms in before that.

I guess you know that spy won the poll for the October group read. We are going to have to have a runoff on the other themes since we had plenty of ties. We'll do that in October. If you think of other themes, feel free to make suggestions here.
If we go with The List of Seventhen "Young Sherlock Holmes" would be good, or maybe the most recent Sherlock Holmes, movies.
Are you nominating List of Seven for the November read, Hugh? If so, I'll add that to the nominations thread for November. Just wanted to make sure.
Yes, I am. The List of Seven was a lot of fun to read. It's historical setting, very action oriented with a touch of romance, (not too much!) and enjoyable humor (victorian Humor but enjoyable). That's my nomination.
I read it so long ago, It's fuzzy, I want to read it again!

and The LIst of Seven is now available on Kindle, though it's still a full priced book, (Paperback cost).
In order to get ready for the December read, we need to figure out our theme. We had loads of ties, so I'm going to run the theme poll again. Here is our list. If you want to add a theme, please feel free. I will try to get the new theme poll up on October 31 or thereabouts.
