I definitely love a character with attitude and I don't necessariy mean cheeky. If he/she has a good sense of themselves, or doesn't but learns as the story goes along, and I can get a feel of the anger, fear, joy, and the character's reactions to these emotions through actions and words, then I'll be sure to want to keep reading. (and if that's not a run on sentence, I dont know what is lol) The short version is this. I don't want to read about what a character is doing. I want to read about what they're feeling while it's happening. If I can put myself in that situation because I can feel what they're going through, then that makes a character real and memorable. :)

As an after note, I wrote this very late at night and I'm sure I'll reread it in the morning and go, ugh, that doesnt make sense. :) *yawn* I might need to rewrite this in the morning. lol Goodnight. lol

TL Jeffcoat (tljeffcoat) | 9 comments I agree with you Mireille. The characters growth as the story unfolds allows me to get inside them and understand them more and more. If I can get an idea where a character is coming from and feel what they feel, then the odds of me remembering that character are greatly increased.
