MaraC | 2 comments Hey Everyone! I know this is a long shot but I am looking for a book that was one of my favorites growing up. I didn't own it but would check it out of the library every chance I got. I had it memorized where it was shelved and could still take you to the spot. However, it is no longer there. I can not remember the name or the author! I would have been reading it in the mid 80's. It is about a little girl living in the city who befriends the pony/horse that pulls a delivery cart. I think it was an ice cart but am unsure. She would often ride along on deliveries. The horse is to be retired and at that point I get even hazier... I think she may have run away to check on the horse at one point. And I remember that it has a happy ending. It was hardbound. The cover had a design around the edges in green and grey with scene in the middle, a sketch of the horse and I think townhouse style houses behind it. The cover art kinda similar to the little bear books. Here is an example- Little Bear (An I Can Read Book) by Else Holmelund Minarik

Any help would be greatly appreciated but I realize that I don't have a whole lot to go on. Here's hoping someone else loved this book as much as I did and can help me find it again!

Pretend City Children's Museum (pretendcity) | 1 comments How exciting! Books leave such a powerful imprint on a child's mind. I am so excited that you found your childhood favorite. I had that same experience. I was in the 4th grade and remember going to the library and always pulling The Dollhouse Murders I moved and for years I thought the book was called "Murder in the Doll House" The book was a hard yellow cover with just the title on it, no picture, so it was hard to describe.... I don't recall where I was when I found the book, it had to be at a book store when I asked for the 100th time as a teenager that they lead to me a section of books, and that is when I found The Dollhouse Murders Such an amazing feeling! I am so happy for you!

MaraC | 2 comments That's it!! Oh my gosh, I can not tell you how excited I am right now! And to think you only know of it by chance! I have searched for this book my entire adult life. I always look through every childrens section at as many book sells and used book stores I came across. As a result I have many other childrens books in my collection! I thought for sure no one would have heard of it. You have made me incredibly happy and joyful today! Thank you very, very much! :D Now I'm gonna go see about ordering it!

(To clarify, this book mystery was probably solved by Abigail, who has left GR and taken her comments with her.)
