Selin so as an emo, i luv reading emo-ish books. 4 my emo buddies i have some reccomendations...but i too need some... got milk? umm...sorry, i meant GOT GOOD EMO BOOKS???

Alex as a preface, i am anti-emo. catcher in the rye is strongly pessimistic, however, emo isnt really a descriptor i would give it. perhaps i dont know where you stand as an "emo person," but i usually see emo as someone who is generally sad or depressed or pretends to be, without any reason. sadness and depression i believe are passing emotions. to assist in pulling you out your emo-ness, i would like to recommend anything by kerouac, largely, on the road and the dharma bums.

if you arent the type of emo i assume emos to be and you enjoyed catcher in the rye, then i would highly recommend anything by charles bukowski; literally anything by him. bukowski is an older, drunker, more pessimistic version of holden caulfield.
