this book was written about the end of dickens life, around his last 3 books when he was nuts and obsessed with the afterlife and death and the london sewers and its really good and creepy, vaguely horror at the end if i remember correctly. One word title i think... help! I'll give you internetz <3 forever and ever

I think it might be Drood, but this one was hard to investigate.
Could be Bleak House. Or Hyperion. You never know.
If it was actually written by Matthew Pearl, and set in America instead of England, and about a bunch of famous American writers instead of Dickens, then the book you're thinking of is The Dante Club.
Well, it's probably solved but we're waiting for Zach to confirm.
Tried to send Zach a message even though his profile says he hasn't been active in several months, but he has his profile set up so he does not accept email. We can only hope he will one day check up on this tread and tell is if someone has solved his mystery.
