kuzronk wrote: "Is Legends of the Galactic Heroes a good intro to light novels? I own the first two volumes of that. ..."TBH, I don't know. I've not read or watched that. Also, what genre do you enjoy to watch? I could give you some suggestions based off of that. Also, on my profile I have a pretty decent list of LN's I'm currently reading. I'm in the process of going back and doing reviews on them so people can get a flavor of what's what. Drop me a line and I'd be more than happy to help out!

Welcome Eric. I have read part of the Thanos (infinity gaunlet) and loved it. Preacher is also one of my all time fav. Check out Y the last man....its one of the best graphic novels.
Hey Praney! Thank you.Yep, Y was really good, I jumped on when I dragged my then girlfriend to ComicCon and then editor in chief of Vertigo Comics grabbed my girlfriend and talked her into starting to read comics with Y- the last man. :-) Any other suggestions? Sounds like we're on the same wavelength.
If you get a chance, read “Avengers Annual” #7 I think it set the pace for modern comics.

Always looking for a new series or graphic novel to read or recommend for variety of age levels.

Hello, I'm Christopher. I've been joining a few comic book groups in recent days.Came across this one looking at the Frank Miller author page (from a poll in 2012..)
Anyway, I have read a lot of Grant Morrison and want some tips for branching out.
I was a dedicated reader of X-Men in the Claremont Byrne days, but have only come back in the last few years, after missing a lot.

Hi, I'm Steevo. I'm 37 years old and I just read my first graphic novel. I love reading, but I'm not really a "superhero" comic book sort of guy. Hector Navarro from Mothership recommended "Paper Girls", so I checked it out. I LOVED the first 3 volumes, and can't wait for volume 4 on April 10th. Needless to say, if more graphic novels are like this, then they will forever be included in my library. I just picked up Saga Volume 1, and The Runaways Volume 1 also, but haven't gotten around to reading them yet.
If anybody has any other recommendations...please let me know.

Sup! I'm Nicole from Utah. I love the library. While in high school, a couple of librarians introduced me to graphic novels, manga, comic books and anime. I have been hooked ever since. I read and watch pretty much anything just as long as it strikes my fancy.
Hey everyone! I'm Pinar, I'm from Turkey, and I've been reading comics ever since before I knew how to read. I usually suck at social media pages, but since everyone here already has something in common with me, I thought I'd give it a shot :)Some of my favorite comics are Groo, Saga, Y: The Last Man, Dampyr, Nathan Never... the list would go on and on! Since this is just an introduction, I'll keep it short :)
Hey guys I'm new to the graphic novel/comic genre. I'm currently reading Saga and Invincible. The only graphic novel I've read was Maus 1 & 2. I would like to read some DC and Marvel comics but don't know where to start. Any help would be appreciated!! I also don't know the order of the Marvel/Avengers movies either lol.

Hi, I'm Pablo from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I've been a comic book reader for 4 o 5 years and they're on of my four passions(the others being learning to code, videogames and movies). My favourite authors are Dave Sim, John Wagner, Jim Starlin, Jack Kirby and Alan Moore.
I have not been reading much the last two so I'm trying to catch up.

Neat to see another Thanos fan. Have you checked "The Metamorphosis Oddysey" also by Jim Starlin?
Hello, I'm Anthony from northeastern Ohio, and I am always amazed by the design and content of graphic works--whether fiction or nonfiction, whether for young kids, tweens, teens or new adults. A few days ago, I borrowed a copy of Illegal by Eoin Colfer (of Artemis Fowl fame) and Andrew Donkin, brilliantly, dramatically illustrated by Giovanni Rigano. More to come later. Cheers. I'm searching for more good reads about immigrants and migration.
Hey everyone, I'm Matt from southern New Jersey. I've been a life long fan of both manga and graphic novels in general, largely due to growing up in the early 90's with the explosion of anime and animated super hero serials like Bruce Timm's Batman. I also enjoy collecting and model biulding (specifically Gunpla) and work full time as a Library Assistant for my local County. Basically, I am a high functioning Geek and proud of it! :)
Hi! I am Andreas and I come from Germany. I love graphic novels and manga and I am currently reading. :-)I am reading a lot of French and Belgian graphic novels and I love blogging about it. I also like some classics of the genre.
Manga is quite new to me but I am getting more and more the hang of it.
Hey everyone,I’m Lazarus. I’ve been a comic book fan (as well as books) for a long, long time. Funnily enough, I first read a freaking Danielle Steele novel off my mom’s bookshelf when I was young (Fine Things, main character named Bernard, I never forget).
Thankfully she also had Robert McCammon on her shelf, who is my favorite author to this day.
On to graphic novels! I love the actual novel form or collected editions. I’m not an issue chaser. Growing up I liked a lot, from the X-Men to The Punisher, and around the bend to the Dark horse Alien and Predator comics. I can enjoy superhero comics, but I prefer Sci Fi/ horror.
Recent graphic novels I’ve read and or am reading: The Clean Room, Monstress, Birthright, The Nikopol Trilogy, and Empty Zone. My all time fav would have to be Locke & Key or The Walking Dead.
Recently I started watching My Hero Academia (not a giant anime guy but I like some) and the super hero approach from Japan was so refreshing to me, that I’m reading that manga (never bothered w/manga before) as well as a spinoff title called “Vigilantes”.
I found the group randomly, I registered on Goodreads a long time ago, but until I caught on to the “reading challenge” at the end of last year, I wasn’t really on here much.
Sorry for the long post, but hopefully I can add something good to this group, however small that good may be.
Lazarus, check out the Lazarus comics! They are a very detailed sci-fi world of warring families. Scalped is also great. It is like many urban murder/mob mysteries but on an Indian reservation amidst addiction, broken lives and casinos. Velvet is a well written James Bond story that stars a crafty, beautiful woman.Dave

I’ll check the others out.
Good Afternoon. My name is Kimara and I am a teen specialist at one of our public libraries where I also facilitate an anime club. I have a lot of questions and am looking forward to learning from those within this group. I admit, I did not know much about Graphic Novels or Manga as I began this journey and I am still learning. Thanks!

Hi, I am Daniel. Since last year blessed with a Kindle Fire, comixology and an Amazon prime reader account.I later realize that I could read comics on my smartphone if I just use it in the automatic spinning mode. ;-)
Ok, I read comics a lot in the 80s and 90s, then, in the late 90s and early 2000 two things happened: I got married and the publishing of comics here in Brazil became scarce. Favorite things in the genre have always been Alan Moore, Gaiman, Jim Starlin, DeMatteis and Books of Magic from J.N Rieber. Some years ago I got into Warren Ellis and Kurt Busiek.
Since last year... A lot of things.
Hey all! I am a librarian that runs a graphic novel book club at my location. I have been running it for about two years now. I stumbled across this group and it looks to have a lot of great information, and fans of this genre.Generally, I read mostly "alternative comics," such as Charles Burns, David B., Harvey Pekar, etc. Superheroes don't do much for me but I am a fan of a lot of Image's series.
Jake Falcón: Spirit HunterHi Nick I'm Victor. I'm the author of the above graphic novel. Check it out with your group and let me know what they think. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
