Eileen I can't put down The Neon Rain. I've been very lucky lately with the books I've been reading.

Wow! Me too. What a very good review. This is the type of action thriller I enjoy reading. Along with Jeremy Robinson, Jon Land, David Morrell, James Rollins, and Michael Stephen Fuchs.

I've hit a dry spell. I read several good books and then burned through a pile of books from the library and suddenly nothing appeals. I can't seem to get into anything. I read (reread) most of an old Louis L'Amour western I'd liked years ago last night (The Daybreakers).

Happens now and then I guess.

Maybe it's the time of year. I've ended up with so many DNF's with both Kindle downloads and library books I'm getting really annoyed and have gone back to re-reads as well.

I just finished Dust (Silo, #3) by Hugh Howey ... it was a very good series and I hope the author has more ideas in his head because there was just enough threads there to maybe continue the story. I can hope.

It's fantastic!

And so far about 25% in I'm enjoying Ghost Story as well although I feel like I have been given enough pieces to startfiguring out what the whole deal is yet still remain in the dark with it all. Jon Land...wow! Been a long time since I read a "Blainey" novel. Really good as I recall. I vividly remember the Mouse Kingdom being trashed in one epic battle.

It's coming out in 2014.

I got a recommendation of Pagan by Andrew Chapman as bing like MHI but with steamier sex scenes ...

I tried not to leave skidmarks getting the Amazon store...

I'm going to give that a shot (99 cents on the kindle, it's got a lot of good reviews so... what's to loose? A buck?

Downloaded a sample. I'm not a big fan of vampires in general and I'm okay with 'steamy sex' but not 'sleazy, steamy sex' (which is probably a pretty personal definition) but sounds like it's worth a try anyway.

Yeah, for 99 cents and a half an hour test time...that's not much to loose for me. When I finish MHI I'll fire up the Kindle for it.

I "say" the same thing, but, being a Dirty Ol' Sailor (retired...of course), i'm okay with sleazy... I just draw the line at raunchy... but that's probably a pretty personal definitoin too). :)

Well, being married to a DOS I'm not sure 'retired' really applies in that particular category ...

On the other hand, it might be interesting to make comparisons in the definitions for "steamy" ... "sleazy/steamy" ... "raunchy/steamy" categories.

Then again, having listened to a few of my personal DOS's stories, maybe not!
