What are you reading now?

I'm still working my way thru The Killing Kind and Pacific Vortex!.
If I'm enjoying a series, I like to read everyone I can get my hands on.

I'll be interested to hear what you think. I read it a couple of weeks ago while at the beach.

Well, I'm at 2% and liking it. :) I will post a review shortly after I'm done and I keep status updates on my reads, so if you feel adventurous, check them out and feel free to comment. I like a good discussion.

Now starting Ian Rankin's Doors Open , a non-Rebus story of art fraud.

I just finished it and have a hard time finding anything good to say about it. I should have a review posted tomorrow. Great artwalk through Florence, but mystery? not. Thriller? hardly.
Peace, Seeley

I usually have to break up my series reading. I don't want to get bored/jaded with a series that I love. I have been working on the Dresden series for years now. Funny thing is you're ahead of me, Tim!

It wasn't a fantastic book for me but I didn't hate it either. Guess I liked it more than you Seeley.

Many thanks for the very thoughtful review, Lance, much appreciated, I will go and think about it all...
I was involved in a challenge that required a lot of Paranormal reading. Although I do enjoy PNR, I am definitely ready to catch up on some of my favorite A/A books. I think that first on the list will be
. I've been missing some Sigma Force lately!

Read my review here.

Now starting The Art Forger by B.A. Shapiro.

Let us know what think."
About 25% in and it's very good so far. I think Mike said in his review that it was character driven and that is certainly the case so far.

Okay, I seem to be getting pretty lucky here. I loved Earthman Jack vs. The Ghost Planet. Finished it. I'd recommend it to anyone with the understanding that it's not what I call a "Hard Science fiction" story but more what some call "Space Opera" and I'd call Space Fantasy (meaning it reads like an epic fantasy set in space...you know, like Star Wars).
What ever you call it. Lots of action and lots of fun and it has a youthful appeal (Young Adult) that wasn't lost on an old grumpy guy.
Now, I finally got my electronic and digital butt in gear and cracked the code on Doha 12 by Lance CharnesI'm about a 3rd of the way through and, im initial impression was, "hey, this remeinds me of a the golden days of Robert Ludlum!" (that a good thing.) I'm very happy with my good fortune! (I'll get to the end soon).
Make sure you keep a box of klenex next to the box of bullets when you start this one. (that's also a statement of endearment with me). It's looking really good so far.

That was me, too. First two I've re-read multiple times, love 'revisiting' the characters ... the third definitely not so much. I do wish she'd do another one with some of the characters from the first two.

Sounds like fun and that's what I'm wanting at the moment. You convinced me!
Wow... the pressure...(Come on book, be fun and funny)
I really enjoyed it. It's one of those you could go, it's like this or that or this other thing but, it's still just a lot of fun to read.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Can I suggest The Breach (if you didn't read it already)? I recommend it because I was in a similar mood couple of months ago, abandoning like a half a dozen books just after 1-2 chapters, not feeling the need to pursue farther, and then BAM! The Breach got through to me. I finished the whole trilogy without a break! If you want, give it a try Eileen.

But then I'm a grumpy old lady (especially grumpy in the summer heat/humidity of KY) so it should work.
Oh, yeah, this one can put a smile on your face. I started a laugh count while driving. (it's not a comedy, but, it's got some funny lines and scenes).
I think I'm going to get some "Hecubus for Emperor of the Universe" T-shirts printed up...but that comes later. :)

I agree ... fun read. Definitely requires a big suspension of reality, perhaps more than most, and I can relate to the Star Wars reference. Funny ... one of my favorite characters in the movies was R2-D2 and my favorite secondary *character* in this book is the sentient robot.

Definitely. I love robots with personality!

Finished Cuckoos Calling also very good.

Great book...really explains a lot about how everything in Wool came to be. I'm looking forward to the third installment Dust which just came out...But thinking I might want to do a reread of Wool Omnibus and Shift Omnibus Edition before I jump into it.

I did enjoy Wool and so far I am enjoying Shift. Are you in the US as I thought that the third instalment was called something else but that might be coz I am in the UK.

I am in the US and already have the third book. It is called Dust here...could be different in the UK, but don't think so.

Thanks for the suggestion, Rizwan. I plan on reading Breach soon, looks good. I'll let you know what I think when I'm finished.

I find that mixing up series and books, not doing them all at once (even if their availible) helps the series stay fresh for me.
