What are you reading now?
Sausage was great....though the red beans and rice should be called rice and red beans I guess as I ended up with a lot more rice than beans. It was good though. :)

I'm reading, Dead Ever After. I've heard mixed reviews about the final Sookie Stackhouse books. I've read the first 12, so no matter what I have to see how it ends.
Still chopping away at Boy's Life. It's a excellent book and very well written.
Boy's Life is among my favorites. Haven't read any Charlaine Harris, my daughter says I wouldn't like them.

I've read all the previous Sookie Stackhouse books too. Just waiting for the library to get my copy in.

We have pretty similar tastes & I've read just about all of Harris' books. They're fluff, but entertaining & relaxing. The only ones I don't care for are the 'Grave' or Harper Connolly series. Cool idea, but she's a whiner. Try one of the Lily Bard. It won't wow you, but it will give you more common ground with your daughter. That's why I started reading them & they're kind of like chips after that.
I just got back from vacation, so haven't done much reading lately. Vacation was more go-go-go than relaxing, but fun nonetheless! I'm just finishing up PRECIPICE...great so far!

I think you probably could use another (this time) vacation. : )

I've read all the previous So..."
After reading the first half of the book, I can understand the mixed reviews.
I try not to read to many reviews of books I'm about to read because I don't to come into it with preconceived ideas.

Enjoy the weekend.
I'm reading The Ten Thousand. I've been meaning to get to it for a long time (I've nominated it for group reads several times, LOL). I finally decided to just read it...I've already bought the two sequels.

I've had all three for awhile as well. I was going to see what you thought but now I'm thinking I'll join you.
I'm game. It's actually in the lead in the Fantasy Book Club Group...I keep nominating it, LOL.
It opens action oriented bit battle and so on. Looks like the author got the inspiration form Xenophon and his relating of the "Long March" in The Persian Expedition or Anabasis (this is one of the few places that reference might not get only blank looks). I'm pretty into it so far.

The Poet I almost gave this Michael Connely 5 stars but went 4 instead.
The Lies of Locke Lamora 4 stars will be reading more of this series
Eye of the Needle 3 stars a bit dissapointed with this one
The Warrior's Path 4 stars another great journey with the Sacketts
I finished Trick of the Light, which is dark UF and started The Hit, the second in the Will Robie series by Baldacci. I like this series a lot. Good writing.
Travis, I highly enjoyed The Lies of Locke Lamora. Need to get back into that series.

I put on an audio version of The Innocent while I was doing some "crafty stuff". It's one of those with sound effects (gun shots etc.) and a "cast" (different readers for different characters).
I hate that. I like a single reader audio with a good reader.

I finished The Hit and I loved it! Baldacci has managed to kick this series up to a higher notch with an equally bad@$$ female counterpart to Robie.

I haven't done any of the cast audiobooks. I can't see me liking it. It would be too much like a play. I'll be curious to see what what you think of The Innocent, Mike. I enjoyed the heck out of that book!

It's sort of a fill in right now. I'm heavily into The Ten Thousand
but I put on an audio when I have to do "other stuff". I'll probably listen to more tomorrow as I have chores to catch up on I've put off for a while.

I have The Ten Thousand. I wish I could join you all on the buddy read, but when I do get a chance to read it, I will pop in and give my thoughts.

Love the Jack Reacher I've read so far. Definitely a fan!

I think The Ten Thousand May epitomize action. Not a slow down yet and the characters are still pretty well filled out. We just get to know them on the fly. Of course some of the main characters are fights modeled after Spartans...I think the "macho" might describe them.
I'm just about half way through Excavation by James Rollins. I'm enjoying it although Maggie is starting to grate on my nerves, and if Sam does one more I...I..um, uh... I think I might scream. But I like Henry and Joan and the whole premise of the book is great. The priests (hidden daggers and all) that have shown up at the dig site will certainly add some excitement and now Henry and Joan have been kidnapped... *sighs* ... it's all good.

I've read them all and re-read some when I'm disappointed (as I am with Inferno).

Miekey, you're on this forum? I didn't know you could read :)
I have finished Girl 4 by Will Carver which is the first book in the same series as The Two. I read them out of order, but it didn't matter, I liked them both.
It's not action adventure, more of a crime/supernatural thriller about a psychic cop chasing serial killers in London. It's dark twisted and definately not for children.
Now I'm reading. A Narrative of a Revolutionary Soldier: Some Adventures, Dangers, and Sufferings of Joseph Plumb Martin bt Joseph Plumb Martin It really reminds me of Short Timer by MR Kenneth Robert Goessl.
It's not exactly action adventure but it's really interesting reading about one of the first professional military men in US History. Not officers, or important political leaders, this is a grunt in the army just trying to stay alive.

Patricia, I really enjoyed it too. I liked the blend of humor in with the action and mystery and the ending made me laugh.

Up first, I'm listening to Six Years and it's had me hooked from the beginning. My first Harlan Coben book and not my last.
Second, I'm reading The Ten Thousand and I'm lucky again. It had me hooked from the beginning.

I read several Harlan Coben books quite a few years ago, but remember liking them quite a bit...Maybe it's time to try another. Six Years sounds like a good one!

Just finished The Emerald Storm (actually second half of Rise of Empire. I need to review like 3 books...
Anyway, will probably start Corvus soon. I'm redoing some book shelves and becoming aware (again) of how many unread books I have on my own shelves.
