What are you reading now?
Right now I'm listening to Judas Unchained by Peter F. Hamilton. It's the second book in the series. This isn't so much action adventure as good old fashioned Hard Science Fiction.
I really liked the first one, and the second is taking up right where that left off. It's a bit slower moving than some but it's so long that it still builds to a fever pitch before it's done.

Two excellent choices. I enjoyed them both.

Go for it!
Peace, Seeley

Great Story. Seabees. "Can Do!"
That reminds me of another story...
Okay, I'll start the thread, but if My lame stories are the only thing there... I'm renovating it and using it to post "Cat Pictures."

So send out directions (LINKS) to the new thread! Ahoy! Maties! Shiver me timbers. And your turn in the barrel. Ah, Harrr!
I made the thread. I posted a story there but I decided that I couldn't capture the chemistry around Old Navy Guys and Homosexuality in a way that conveyed the good spirit of the moment So I deleted it. I'll post one soon.

I just marked it as too read - there was another guy doing SoCal surf noir, and I cannot remember his name.... really unhelpful that comment, I know, but I thought if anyone knows, it's someone here...

Yup, that's the guy, Kem Nunn, I've read Tapping the Source and Dogs of Winter, both good books. How do they compare to Winslow?
I'm still listening to Judas Unchained by Peter F. Hamilton. I really liked the first one and I'm really liking the second. These are long books (40 hours for this one) and, they build tension, suspence and thrill slowly so, taking a break between the first one and the second was a good idea.
Having said that. It's a good old fashioned broad visioned, hard sci-fi story. Wonderfully diverse characters who's lives you get to experience as their lives change.
There's violence, espionage, muder, police, amries, and xenophobic genocidal aliens, sex (some pretty smokin' scenes, if I say so myself... nothing too far into erotica but definately looking in the windows, maybe on the porch.
It's a good read. The first one is Pandora's Star.

I'm still in Judas Unchained. Good Sci-fi, there is lots of action, though I'd still call it a sci-fi book. Battling "The Prime." These are good reads. Pandora's Star and this one.
Once I get through Judas Unchaned, I'll be starting 17 Degrees North by Member Author Larry Seeley. The current MA-BOM

I picked it up too. I'm glad you liked it, I'll have to move it up the list (I've seen good reviews on it from several people.)

I just started reading Running from the Devil, and I'm liking it. The heroine is a chemist and a long-distance runner who becomes the unlikely hero when her plane is hijacked by guerillas in the Colombian rainforest.
The Poll for the June Random Pick Group Read goes up on April 29th, which is Monday, so if you have a book you'd like to see as a group read that doesn't fit into any particular category, now is an excellent time to nominate it.

Then on to another digital library book:

Still plugging along on Judas Unchained and, okay, it's got some kick -a.. er.. exciting action sequences too. Very adult (in the good way) and and very complex. Lots of "Character groups" and the battle scene in this was is Cool... plus the author has a wonderful sense of situational awareness in a shoot out with the cops that's really great. Shooting the floor out of somebody, then dropping a grenade in the basement to blast them into the ceiling. good stuff!

Breach trilogy is a GREAT read (well til the last page of the last book... you'll see), hope you have as much fun as I had.

Excellent book, that anyone here would enjoy reading.

Not sure the physics would work, but sounds like an imaginative hero!

That was actually the villian.. LOL who thought of that, and...it's space stuff... we're talking about some really potent stuff.
It was close enough in context for me to press the "okay, I believe for now" button and it was a wonderful fight scene.

Thanks, I am up 34% into the 1st book and I am liking it. My digital library only has the 1st book in this series. In another month or two I may have to spring for part 2. Reminds a tad of the Area 51 series of books by Bob Mayer.
Just finishing up with Riley's Journey. A little different than what I am used too. Time-traveling back to caveman times, with Neanderthal and Cro-Magnon Man. Definitely romance, but lots of action as well.
Getting ready to begin The Last Hunter: Descent by Jeremy Robinson. I've enjoyed the few of his books that I have read and have always been meaning to read more.

Many, many thanks, Eileen... and sadly, I have Tom Cruise's problem, I'd need a very big box to get to 6' 5" :-)

I was a navigator, Eileen, lots of work with computers and stuff, it was a fun few years -- and thank you so much for the lovely review for Powder Burn!

That does sound like a wonderful experience and great fun!
And you're very welcome!

Sandstorm was really good, Karen. Hope you enjoy it.
I finished Running from the Devil and The Informationist as far as A/A. I also started Resurrectionist, which is Regency Thriller/Suspense. It's good.

Then onto one of my favorite series: Arisen. Stories about the End of the World zombie outbreak and special forces soldiers who are our last hope (for mankind). I am reading the 3rd book in the series now (4th, if you count the prequel):

I hope you like it as much as I did.
Mark, I gather your enjoying Barry Eisler? Those all look good. Some are from what I call "The Ludlum era" back in the 70s and 80s where there cold war was a backdrop that everyone understood.
