Now I'm reading Every Dead Thing.

I didn't like "The Devil Colony" as much as others in the Series either. I liked it, but, I think "Bloodline" (the next one for you) is way better.
I also find that what people like about this Sigma Series very diverse. Which is fine too.
I also think that, his "Stand Alone" books as singles are better than any single Sigma Force book (at least the the 3 or 4 stand alones that I see as "Top Tier" on my Rollins shelf). I still value a good long running series over a single book, but, you have to read one, to decide if you want to read a second right?

I thought Every Dead Thing was an excellent read.
I've also started to read Citizen X by Thomas DePrima. By far his best outing yet. A strong female Character, an engaging military strategy problem, very "Captain Blood" style space ship deployment.
So far a fun book. Still a 3-4 star(ish) book but picking things up. Definately recommendable.

Since I enjoy James Rollins so much, thought I'd give some of his other stuff a try...am currently reading Wit'ch Fire

Yes, he has some YA (and every A) fantasy books out there.
I sometimes forget about those. I'm curious about Rebecca Cantrel. Anyone read any of her books?

I've got this book in my TBR pile. Must get around to reading it soon.

I'm currently reading Butler Did It! by Sally Pomeroy and her husband Keith Pomeroy.
Wow, this is a pleasant surprise so far. Not only did the cover get my attention, the writing is smooth, the story is already getting complicated and there are several wonderful cast members. A strong heroine, smart but not ridiculous, resourceful and brave and... looks good in a bikini...(is there anything else?). Not sure who the real hero is going to be, but the crew of the ship he's on is also fun, right down to the 70 year old Tai Chi master teaching them martial arts as they steam along. ... and the scary mean villains ("gonna get you, and your little dog tooo!")
So far it's in the same category or genre as Clive Cussler, James Rollins and Andy McDermott books. I'm not too far into it, so we'll have to see what happens, but, it's a good book so far, fun, funny and a good read.
I'm not sure if the complexity will pan out or if the quality will stay good, but the first 33% (third) of the book is worth the read and, in this genre (Action/Adventure). It's also not that expensive on Kindle

and, I might add, the cover got my attention, but I completely missed what the book was about... (um... not for the obvious reasons... well, okay, not ONLY for the obvious reasons...) Therefore I say the cover was mistake... the book is really right along the same lines as Rollins's Deep Fathom and Clive Cussler's Saharah.

Not at all, I'm saying "don't judge a book by the babe in a bikini on the cover."
It's turning into a good, and fun Action Adventure similar to Rollins's Deep fathom or most of Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt books.
I think the babe on the cover nice but, I thought it was a detective story at first. This is A/A through and through, and well written, smooth, very smooth reading so far for an Indie pub. It's even funny.

I just finished Wit'ch Fire. I'm not much of a fantasy reader, but I did really enjoy this one...Finally starting 12.21: A Novel.
I finished Butler Did It! by Keith Pomeroy and Sally Pomeroy.
It's a fun read, that probably needs to go in the "Cozy Action Adventure Novel" category. I'd say, it's not as "Serious" (and shouldn't be taken as "Serious") as Rollin's Sigma Force Novels and, it's a lot of fun , exciting, funny, and enjoyable. I'd call it an wonderful light read.
It's got a few "tropes" in it, some cliche-James Bond-ish type stuff, a little Johnathan Swift and "Challengers of the Unknown" (One of the two DC Commic Book series I put in my top ten favorites.) And, all of it well managed and fresh.
It reads more like a Movie, but it would be a fun movie. If your not in the mood to take yourself too seriously, then, you'll probably enjoy this. If you are looking for something shockingly intense, this may come close, but it's a little short on the shocking side, and has some fun, and intense action sequences, with some really nifty humor but it falls short of MHI and the Sigma Novels for intensity.
Still, I found it to be just "Fun." Recommended.

Happy to hear your enjoying The Killing Floor. I've recently read this and love it.
I agree about Tom Cruise playing Jack Reacher, will see. Tom does make
entertaining action movies.
You reminded me, I have to read the next in the series

Probably best to just pretend that the movie is about a different Reacher - maybe Petite Reacher. Tom did a fabulous job in Michael Mann's film, Collateral with Jamie Foxx. And it's a super film, too.

So she's not in the story? ;o

By the by, I recently read The Redbreast and loved it. Amazon has kindle versions of Redbreast, The Devil's Star and Nemesis for under 4 dollars. Not really A/A but good crime/mystery.

You're on a reading roll so far this month.

I hate when that happens!

Good book. I can't tell you how bummed about Tom Cruise being cast as Reacher I am.

I finished Butler Did It! (and really enjoyed it) and started...
The Really Dreadful Crime Company by Robert V. Adams and so far it's enjoyable. It's kind of like an English Crime Show on the BBC Chanel so far, but It's enoyable for me.

You're right, but most of the crime/mystery I've been reading are under 300 pages so they don't take long to read.
By the way, finished Time to Murder and Create. I'm really liking this Scudder series.

Viggo Mortensen might not be so bad at it. I thought Liam Neeson too.

There are also some other od-lings that might work in the roll too that we don't normally think of like maybe "Eric Banna" (Hector from Troy) but he'd need a haircut, or Jasan Stetham, but he'd need a wig.
I picture Josh Lucas, although he's not quite that tall or muscular. I think he has the attitude.
Stetham could do it in the physical department, but he'd have to work on his accent a bit. might not be a problem. Daniel Craig would have some of the same...though he tried playing a cowboy earlier.

I haven't read any Reacher books yet, but anything with Eric Banna I'd go see! He gets my vote :)

My wife was the Reacher fan, so I finished a few after she did. Okay, but never became my favorites.

I'm listening to The Devil Colony: A Sigma Force Novel in my car, and I'm reading The Moses Legacy. I like the guy narrating The Devil Colony - the audiobooks of Rollins' books seem to be hit and miss for me. I'm not able to read a lot at a time in the book, so I'm not sure if I feel like it's just OK because I'm not having time to really get into it, or because it's really just ok!
