I've loved all his books, so I don't expect I won't enjoy Contest.

The two I read Temple and Ice Station were a blast! Ice Station was better but, they were both fun.

I have the next Scarecrow book, I need to read it.

Eileen I've only read a couple Reilly books and he's terrific! Ice Station was a great read, so now I'll be adding Contest.

I started Heaven's Shadow (Heaven's Shadow, #1) by David S. Goyer yesterday, and it's going pretty well. Not my typical cup of tea, but I'm enjoying it.

OK, I was all set to read Monster Hunter International, and just realized it is not available for Kindle. I am SO disappointed. I know I could just go out and buy the paperback, but I so love my Kindle.

Yes it is... you can get it for kindle from his website.

http://www.baenebooks.com/p-1024-mons...

This is where Corriea markets all his books from.

And Audible.com had the first three on the $5.95 rack for a while too. (Probably still there.)

Thanks for that info Hugh..I will definitely be visiting that site. I'm just a little confused though. How is it that a Kindle ebook is not listed on Amazon? (I understand about all the different ebook formats, but thought that the Kindle format would have to be sold on Amazon) And isn't he missing out on tons of sales with it not being listed there? Or am I just missing something here? Sorry but I'm still trying to understand all this ebook stuff.

Also, I just can't do the audible...wish I could. I find myself daydreaming, missing parts, having to rewind, etc. I guess I'm just a visual reader :)

Kindle is a format, there are lots of places that can prepare an e-book in kindle format. Basically, your Kindle reader is like a specialized email reader...the books are emails. When you purchase a book in a kindle format from an non-amazon server, you need to tell them to email it to your amazon kindle email... just like you can get email from Yahoo.com even if your a Gmail.com user, you can get a Kindle book from Baen even if Bean is not an Amazon site.

You'll need to go to "Manage my kindle" and, one of you should be able to find your "kindle's email address" you put that in the Baen site when you buy and they'll email it to your kindle through Amazon, just like yahoo sends emails through microsoft's "hotmail" email server

that make sense?

Thanks Hugh...that makes great sense. The expression is true...you do learn something new everyday! I guess I just thought that Amazon had some kind of exclusive sales rights to books in the kindle format.

If it weren't for you...Larry Correia would have missed out on a sale, and I would have missed out on a potentially enjoyable read...Thanks again! :)

Still not sure why the author wouldn't want it listed on Amazon...must be a money thing :)

Okay, you go to "Manage My Kindle" then to "Kindle Devices" and you should see a list of "Registered Kindle Reading Apps" and in the middle column will be the "Send to Kindle Email Address."

That's what you give to the 3rd party and they send it and it will come through for Kindle. There are a lot of free sites that will do this in Kindle book format too.

I think they gain a lot of sales that way...nothing beats word of mouth! I have never really heard of this book except from you all here...if it weren't for you all, I probably wouldn't be reading it!

Now I'm going to start 12.21: A Novel.

Her Highness and the Highlander
12.21: A Novel
Wolf's Hour
The Affair
Blood Brothers

What usually happens with me is I get into one book more then the others. Then I will finish it and move on to the next. It does get a little confusing at times.

I really liked the personal delimma's, the way the families problems etc. played out so you could see both sides of an issue in a way that tells you that everyone's 100% right and a 50% wrong when it comes to these things. Perspective is reality.

I've picked up the sixth book in what's become a current favorite series, for me, that's up there with Jack Daniels (al little ahead on the list) and Monster Hunter International (not on the same list).

Opening Moves by Steven James. This one's the 6th book in the Patrick Bowers Files. It's actually a "Pre-quill." It's wonderfully terrifying and horrible (like the others) and, Jame's "Sir Lancelot of Crime" is even colder than usual. the only regret is, that this seems to be before Tessa-Raven is in the picture, and I really liked her.

Still, this is thriller country and I really like the way James goes about it. So far very good.

Being relatively unimportant, unknown and under educated, I do not get much pressure to read and have book obligations... so, when I get obligated, it's a good thing... at least in the book world... for now.

I do to, and they're getting harder to find. I used to live in a small town where right downtown there was what's usually called a "hole in the wall shop" that was like that. Old building, old books I spent hours there. This was the early 1970s.

There's one privately owned used book store here still that I love. Time goes on I guess.

There's a Brainrush II that's out and Richard Bard is finishing up the third book. He has just sold the whole package to Amazon's publishing arm and the trilogy will be released next year, I guess. He's also sold film rights. So he's a major success story.

I have sooo many things to read, and I haven't chosen what to start today. I may do the new Rick Riordan for a change and a laugh, then get back to the more serious ones on my list.

Can't wait to see Taken 2 this week, though!
