well... the story would be nothing without the characters. In twilight's case it has nothing on both sides. The plot and the characters.

I hate Twilight because it is the worst book, Bella is whinny, edward is way over protective. Bella tries to kill herself when Edward leaves which is soooooo stupid. She gets pregnant at a little to young age and gets married at 18 and even when she is married she is immature.

Abbreviations may be "faster" but you're posting in a group (which is basically like a forum) so why does it matter how fast you type? This isn't a chat room so you're not in any rush. :-) And I'm not saying it's wrong at all. Rain stated what I meant on page thirty-five so I'm not going to re-say anything. But just to make myself clear, I never meant to start anything with my comments. It was only my opinion and I do realize that maybe I was out of hand. The reason I really hate Twilight is the major inconveniences and Deus ex Machinas (and the complete, totally perfect main character who never has to work for anything). I mean, really. All she has to do is sit around and look pretty so that if any danger does happen to befall her, Edward will always pop out of nowhere to save her. And all of her problems (the few that there are) are always solved by someone else so she doesn't have to rack her brain to come up with her own solutions. She epically fails as a heroine. XP

Only got about two chapters into Twilight before I gave up, so I haven't read Breaking Dawn, but that describes my response to trying to read Twilight quite well

That's what I did (and my friends were pestering me, saying I can't judge the series if I haven't read the entire thing). I especially can't stand Breaking Dawn. I mean, Bella gets even more perfect than she already is!

What is it these days with authors and their characters with near-God complexes? XD There are only few anymore that can really give them believable flaws and make them loveable...but SM is not one of those authors. Although, I do like Jacob. He's flawed and I love it. :-)

Yeah. The only non-perfect characters in that book are dissed on by Bella half the time (that, or she ignores them completely and due to that, they get no "screen time").

I've read a few vampire books but they're all turning into sappy teen romances so I can't stomach them anymore.

Maggie Shayne has a good series. Not completely true to what everyone loves about Vamps but it is good.
