Welcome, Joe.
I don't think Matthew Reilly writes at all like Rollins, but he's my go-to action adventure fiction writer.
I think his Jack West, JR series is along the treasure hunt lines of Rollins' books.
Seven Deadly Wonders is the first, I believe.

Welcome Joe! Glad to have you. I'd recommend Temple by Matthew Rielly.
or if your looking for something that's maybe a bit more sci-fi oriented, yet on the same lines and on the same earth we know and love, maybe Event
by David L. Golemon.

I hear Jack Silkstone's got a new full length novle out too, but I haven't read it yet, myself. PRIMAL Unleashed.

I'd agree Rielly and Rollins have decidedly different styles. Rielly is more action oriented, like an action of war book. I kind of thought Temple wasn't far from a Rollins book.
Scarecrow doesn't have the historical backdrop and history-mystery theme like Rollins does, but man, their fun books.
There is also Clive Cussler, which is kind of rounding out the bottom three on the recommendations list.

I'd love to hear about other authors you recommend as I'm always looking out for new books to read.
Hi Janey, We're glad to have you here. I have Ice Hunt on my Kindle. Of course, I live in the states so that may have something to do with it. You'll like Sigma Force. Amazonia and Subterranean were both really good.
If you like Those, you might like Templeby Matthew Reillythat's a lot of fun too.

Hi Dee, welcome. It's good to see you here. I've read every one of those guys and enjoyed there writing a lot too. They all fit in well here.
Your welcome Janey. I think you'll like Temple. I finished it a few days ago and I thought it was a really good read.

Dee, I've got a running list of Action adventure (and books with action adventure aspects) somewhere on these discussion boards. You might find something you hadn't seen before that you might want to give a try. Plus, there are a lot of people here and it seems like all of them bring some book, or title that I've never heard about before that turns out to be exciting and fun to read.

I am C.S. Splitter, and I am an author but I am NOT going to beat you over the head with my books in this post. I promise.
I should have found this group a long time ago, forgive my tardiness. I am an active member on a GR site called Creative Reviews and have come to love the community aspect of GR.
My purpose for being here is mostly research. You see, I have not actually read a ton of books in the action/adventure genre even though that is what I write. I got here by doing a search on what people look for in a hero/heroine and it took me to one of your threads.
With all of the groups dedicated to fantasy/horror/speculative fiction on GR, it is wonderful to find people that like a good ole' adventure.
I hope to become active here and I am sure I will have a lot of questions for you all.

When I started searching for action/adventure groups on GR, I thought I would find a bunch. Nope. Pretty much, this is it.
As an author, that's BAD news. It might mean that I should have written sparkly vampires (sorry, I have a personal distaste for the new style vamps).
Maybe the good news is that this group will become the "go to" spot on GR for action/adventure fans and the number of members will increase.

Yes, the "sparkly vampire" issue has been widely discussed here. I personally am of the, "if it's undead make it truly dead" school. Stake 'em and move on.
The fearless Vampire Hunters live, right Mike? (Movie reference)
I've been pretty much vampired out too. More from the Tv Hype over Twilight, though I have to say it probably started with "Blade" and the Vampire Lestat.
at least there's still "The Transporter" (Jason Stetham).

Jason Statham is scrummy!! He was great in The Transporter and Death Race.
Welcome to the group Splitter.
