Welcome, Marchelle!
Welcome, Marchelle!
I just started a new book and I'm already a quarter of the way through, its call Bodega Dreams by Ernesto Quinonez. so far nothing big has really happened it's about some guys who grew up in the slums of New York. supposedly there is a climax coming as the main character keeps hinting at it. I'm still lost in it though because for the last 4 chapters the main character just keeps talking about himself and his friend. Hopefully, it gets better!

Good Day,My name is James N. Conway and I am a writer. Currently and during the past few years, I have mostly been venturing around Afghanistan, occasionally bumping into insurgents, secret police officers, and diplomats.
As I am new to goodreads, I am looking forward to see what the community here has to offer. So please reach out if you have any good suggestions.
Cheers,
James
Hello, my name is Phil and I'm an adrenaline junkie. I love action in my stories I read/write/watch. By day, I'm a 19-year U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal Soldier. By night, I turn to the stories for entertainment. I've been looking for a Goodreads group that focuses on action. I hope to find some good gems here and make some new friends.
Hello everyone, my name is Dan. I am an extremely casual reader. I am trying to become a better reader and I believe I found the perfect group for that. Action and adventure are my favorite movies and TV shows so I believe this is the perfect group for me. I am new to Goodreads and I hope to find some new friends here.
Hi, I'm Andy, and I'm an action junkie. (Hi Andy) To satisfy my addiction I've taken to writing my own books because I found discussing books and movies with my son we had a lot of ideas. I think everyone who reads a story has a moment where they ask 'what about that point where...' which was the jumping off point for me.
I'm hoping to join in discussions and enjoy meeting others who feel books should keep you up at night, not put you to sleep. :P

Hi Ashton. I deleted your intro because we ask Authors to use the Author section to promote their books.

My non-authory intro is that I'm looking to read more big action-adventure books. Anything in the vein of Indiana Jones, Hellboy, or Constantine is right up my alley :)

Just found the action/adventure group - I am an author and write spy thrillers. I love reading Clive Cussler, Lee Child (Reacher novels), Simon Scarrow, Andy McNaB's SAS novels, Wibur Smith, and more. I would love to read books from some new authors, a new generation of action/adventure writers!

Hi John. Please repost your greeting without the self-promo. We have an author section for you to introduce your books.
Hello, I'm Poppy.I work in hospitality: a plush establishment, patronised by more gentle, conservative folk. I work. I walk. I read. I work. I walk. I read.
I don't know just yet what I really wanted to read, I'm just picking books from the small library where I work. I hope to find friends and share thoughts on what I do read.
I'm very new to this: I'm all ears or should I say, "All eyes."
Hello, I’m John. I took early retirement and with a large garden/orchard I have become almost self sufficient: my responsibilities at present rest with a small group of not-so-able hedgehogs. The neighbours became aware that I was caring for a hog with one-eye and a hospice seemed to blossom from there. Returning to university, I read history and that led me to such works as: The Great Game - The Struggle for Empire in Central Asia, On Secret Service East of Constantinople - The Plot to Bring Down the British Empire, and the like; all of which gripped me and I class as exceptional thriller/suspense/mysteries. My grandmother on my mother’s side was a White Russian and as youngster she left Russia in 1921, under the care of her father and mother. Her father was killed in Ukraine; and so she made the crossing from France to Blighty with her mother in November of 1923. From their accounts the journey across Europe was most harrowing. My mother has the family book and the the dairies of both her grandparents. I have often thought of creating a manuscript from those, but feel unqualified and not able to do justice to their story. There is no mention in my great-grandparent’s memoirs of escape lines and safe houses, but my grandmother, during her later years with what she excused as her failing memory, often spoke of ‘the kindest of people’ and how they are the only reason she survived. I spend time researching escape-lines, underground networks and life-in-the shadows. I won’t claim a need to find evidence of who might have helped my grandmother, as I am content with a desire to more fully understand the ways and means by which many sought to resist oppression even in the face of the great risk to them and their family. I yearn for well-researched, real-life thrillers focused on 20th Century Europe.
Hi EverybodySo I've just kind of been hiding in a cave for 20 years writing my little action / adventure books, and I reached the point, I decided to get more sunshine, and maybe goodreads is sunny all the time
I have horror, sci-fi, fantasy, but almost all is action adventure first, other genre second
and literally almost no marketing for 20 years, so forgive my lack of reviews + ratings
At this point, I'm a marketing student, and a reader, and I want to step away from writing

Hello all! I'm David. I love to read, and I'm the author of three novels. Just getting my feet wet on Goodreads, and I thought this group would be an excellent place to start and perhaps meet like-minded readers and authors.
Joe, please reintroduce yourself with out the promo and the link. It's fine to say you're an author, but we have specific rules about promotion.
