Hi Caleb. I deleted your introduction because we ask authors not to promote their books in their intros. Feel free to use the Author sections of the groups to talk about your books.

message 1863: by Duncan (new)

Duncan Hamilton (duncanmhamilton) | 1 comments I'm Duncan. I've loved reading this genre ever since my dad handed over his Clive Cussler books when I was a kid. I've struggled to find new reads in this genre lately, so looking forward to digging into the group and seeing what I can turn up. I tend to like the 'MacGuffin' style stories, and am always delighted to get new suggestions!

R.J. MacDonald | 1 comments Greetings from Scotland, my name's Mac, I served as a reservist in both the US marines and the Royal Air Force, so I'm about as Trans-Atlantic as my mixed up accent. I'm a new author, my WWI historical novel is on the bookshelf. Nowadays I serve on a volunteer lifeboat in the North Sea- when my pager goes, I run to the station and we launch, regardless of the weather. I look forward to joining the chat.

Dale Renton (dalerenton) | 15 comments Hello all. Born in Scotland, live in Australia. Writer and reader. I enjoy all genres of fiction and non-fiction but no matter the context, a tense, nail-biting story with danger all around is what I love most. Looking forward to finding new titles to read through this group.

message 1877: by Jeff (new)

Jeff Warren (jeffreyjwarren) | 4 comments I love classic action adventure thrillers in the tradition of Desmond Bagley, Hammond Innes and Alistair MacLean.

I prefer central characters who are ordinary people forced to act outside their comfort zone.

One of the joys of reading fiction is learning new things. It may be about how people think, about history, places, technology, or about the jobs people do.

A good novel lets you absorb all this subconsciously. Dick Francis was good at that.

message 1880: by BlueMastiff (new)

BlueMastiff | 6 comments Hi all my name is Bob and new to the group. I started reading action adventure books when I was in the service many moons ago, the likes of J.C. Pollock and Tom Clancey. Stopped reading for years as work and life in general limited my time. Started back up with the works of Stephen Hunter and Vince Flynn. Now I am finding myself really digging into the older action adventure series such as The Executioner, Vietnam Ground Zero and SOGs along with others from that era. Looking forward to see what other books everyone is reading and their thought on them.

message 1887: by Penelope (new)

Penelope Hello. I am fairly new to goodreads & read various genres - Fantasy, Sci-fi, Military & LE Fiction, Mysteries, Paranormal, Romance. In action/adventure, I mainly read Clive Cussler, and have read all his books in his Oregon, Numa, and Dirk Pitt series. His titles, Flood Tide & Inca Gold, Lost City & Devil’s Gate are among my favorites. I especially appreciate his books with a lot of underwater action, even when far-fetched, as I I scuba dive, It makes for entertaining reading. :D

Hello from beyond the veil!

Just a pit stop. I recently had surgery, now have an infection and a couple of days off. Thought I'd check in.

Typing is difficult with one eye. (my left eye is grotesquely swollen completely shut and the right one is swelling up).

Glad this is still a robust community. I'll try to check in while I have vision in at least one eye. Take care.
