Hero Jenkins (HeroJenkins) | 16 comments Hi I'm Hero;
I love A/A but need a plot and some suspense. I am hated and despised by movie loving friends and family because I can guess plot twists and sometimes even dialogue because movies have become so predictable. Even when I don't say anything, they look over at me and say "I guess you knew that was going to happen too..."

Yes it is indeed a curse.

message 1352: by Eileen (new)

Eileen Welcome, Hero!

I am cursed as well, lol

Welcome Hero. Welcome. I have a similar curse too. It's not the worse thing I've been cursed with though.

Think of us as "The Four Horsmen of Prophetic TV and Movie Appocolypse."

Isn't that special?

Welcome, Hero and David.

@Hero, I have become a big mystery fan and I love guessing whodunnit.

@David, love the Will Robie series!

message 1363: by David (new)

David Dalton | 152 comments I am reading The Hit (Will Robie, #2) by David Baldacci as well. I am loving it.....Would make a super good movie, but I guess they would have to film The Innocent (Will Robie, #1) by David Baldacci first.

Still reading Matt Helm The War Years by Keith Wease as well,

and the digital library just let me know that NOS4A2 by Joe Hill is available for me as well. Plus, I want to get back to The Monster Hunters by Larry Correia and to get started on the 1st Matt Helm action thriller: Death of a Citizen (Matt Helm, #1) by Donald Hamilton .

I need time, much MORE time to get to all of these plus hundreds of others.........

Hi David, happy reading. Let me know which one you like best. Also, is The Hit a sequel to The Innocent?

message 1368: by Eileen (new)

Eileen Welcome, Adite!

Yes, The Hit is the second book in the series. I've read them both and I enjoyed them equally. Will definitely continue with the series.

message 1370: by Tim The Enchanter (new)

Tim The Enchanter Hi folk. I am always a fan of a good action/adventure story. I am usually reading one and listening to one. Currently I am reading The Seraphim Sequence (The Fifth Column, #2) by Nathan M. Farrugia by Nathan M. Farrugia and listening to Area 7 (Shane Schofield, #2) by Matthew Reilly by Matthew Reilly. I am enjoying both very much.

Tim, I haven't read The Serphim Sequence, but the first book of the series The Chimera Vector has been on my to-read list for quite a while. You'll have to let us know how you like it. I have read Area 7 and it was a definite winner with me!

message 1375: by Rizwan (new)

Rizwan Khalil Hello Tim and Adite, welcome to the group! Sorry I'm a bit late to welcome you guys, but better late than... :P Anyway, to Adite, I've recently read The Innocent and currently almost finished with The Hit...And I found them both to be equally engrossing and entertaining (Well, Innocent a bit more than Hit if we keeping score), so I can wholeheartedly recommend to you both!

To Tim, I just very recently found out about Nathan Farrugia's Fifth Column series, and both of the books look like my kind of thriller. Already collected The Chimera Vector, and hope to read it soon!

Looking forward to hear from both of you in our daily discussions!

message 1376: by Tim The Enchanter (last edited Aug 01, 2013 04:51AM) (new)

Tim The Enchanter Thanks for the welcome. I have now finished both the Nathan Farrugia books, The Chimera Vector and Seraphim Squence. I enjoyed both of them. Here are my reviews. http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/... and http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

I am almost finished Event by David Lynn Golemon. I did not know he existed until a few days ago. Event is great. Great action adventure with Sci Fi I have read in a while. This may become a new favorite series for me.

Welcome Phoenix. I'm glad you found the group. I read just about any genre, and, I really like the good old "action/adventure" books, as well as thrillers etc. (and there are a lot of females yet to come out of the closet as action lovers I think.) welcom to the group and if you have any questions, feel free to ask, one of us Moderator types will do our best to help you and if we can't, I've found that the rest of the group knows more than I ever thought I knew... and that's a lot because I used to have a fairly elevated and inflated opinion of myself and what I know.

Again, welcome!

message 1387: by Phoenix (new)

Phoenix Reads (phoenixreads) | 2 comments Thank you for the warm welcome. I had to laugh about "females coming out of the closet," liking the action adventure books and movies. Yep, that's me. I even wrote one, with the help of my male co-writer (and hubby). I love them all: Clive Cussler, Lee Child, Tom Clancy, Baldacchi, etc. I think I will enjoy this group.

Um... do you mean other readers or... men of a ficticious nature?

message 1393: by Eileen (new)

Eileen Of course.... my first thought was of my fellow readers.

Could be....those men of the ficticiuos nature come in a close second.

Oh, sure... it's not like one of those "male" cheerleaders ever became president or ... oh... crap.... nevermind...

I kind of thought it might be like The Big Bang Theory (TV) ... you know... pretty girl... room full of geeks and Nerds...

But, I like your comparison better.

Hi Phoenix, I have converted two of my romance loving sisters to reading A/A instead and they are quickly going through my substantial library. Both of them got the bug by reading Andy McDermott.

I actually love romance, still do, but I love A/A books too. I cut my teeth on action movies growing up. When I get them both together, even better.
