Welcome Mark, and, I'd say... What Eileen said. MHI series is just plain fun to read.

I think that's a good question Mark. I'm going to open a discussion thread for that.

I loved Starship Troopers at the time. Well, when I first read it. Seems naive now, but fun nonetheless.

It's definitely pulpy and a bit fluffy at times, but it's brisk, violent, and easy to read - a book version of a Saturday morning cartoon :-P. My reading list is two-thirds classics but I like to take a break from the filet mignon and chow down on a bacon cheeseburger now and then.

Paul Kemp (kemp) | 14 comments Hi,

I'm Paul S. Kemp and I just found the group when I realized that my last novel,The Hammer and the Blade, was the book of the month for April. I missed that entire discussion, for which I shall bear everlasting shame. :-)

I love action/adventure fiction. There's a joy to it, an energy, that I've loved since my teens. Burroughs, Leiber, Howard -- I re-read them once a year, just to remind myself of what masters can do.

Anyway, look forward to interacting with you. :-)

Paul

message 1315: by Timothy (new)

Timothy Kestrel (timothykestrel) | 1 comments Hi, my name is Tim, and I'm a writer and former US Army Ranger.

My friends call me Timo. Tim-o or Ti-mo, either way is laudable, and I'm honored to be here.

I think it all started when, as a child, I had a wooden toy car and it got stuck between the wall and radiator. No one would help me to get it lose. So few years later, I started writing, first essays and other lighter stuff, but eventually I fell head on the victim to gateway effect.

I'm still frustrated, I guess, and although I try to make amends and write responsibly, sometimes I fall for binge-writing and binge-watching TV shows for days on end. Dunno, maybe I just love the word binge. Or maybe because I have this tinge to writing, that's what my reviewers say, anyway.

I can't get over it, although I have tried everything, like getting a life, but I'm making progress, just like Tony Soprano, my role model.

You know how it is, I keep telling about past events and make-up stories like if they happened for real. I have this reoccurring daymare that one day my story goes to La La Land like Debbie did Dallas.

So anyways, I've recognized that I have this deep need for approval, and I hope you like me, and we could be friends, but not Tony Montana style, though. Hmm, why do I like the name Tony? Is it because I'm so fashionably - gasp - happy? Nah, I’m not but I do laugh every now and then, in a chamber, while I write like a monk my make believe fabrications of things the way they might have been, or not.

I love listening music, as well. My favorite song is I'm a bad bad boy and I'm gonna steal your love. I sing it in the shower, alone while doing unspeakable things, like washing my hair.

Btw, my middle name is crucifixion, or it could be, or better yet self-crucifixion, but it's so hard to hit the nails through with one hand on the keyboard, you know what I mean?

Hi welcome Paul...and Tim. You're definitely welcome Tim, really we want you to know that and be comfortable with it. No way we'd like you to worry or be overly concerned lest it begin to weigh on your mind and start to maybe obsess you and bring about memories of past disappointments and unresolved struggles or other traumas...

So, did you ever get that car out from behind the radiator?

Noah (Noah_JJBooks) | 16 comments Hello all! My name is Noah Baker, I am a graduate from Eastern Washington University and am currently working as Associate Editor for Jabari & Jaser Books an imprint of The Zharmae Publishing Press. My dedication to excellence is boarder line narcotic, I’m sure .I enjoy reading action/adventure books that leave me lost in the pages, urging me to read on. Books that interest me must hook my senses, link me to the character and entertain the need to venture out of the office and into the story. I am currently reading conspiracy adventures and can’t put down a mirage of magazines.
While looking for a great up and coming book, I’m looking for solid, fast paced story that was written with prose and diligence. We are currently gearing up for intake of new authors and always looking for authors reviews about books. I am excited to fill my day reading through the pages here at Goodreads.com.

Hello all,

I love romantic suspense and paranormal but have found myself enjoying more adventure books recently. the hard part is finding "True" adventure. I enjoy the occasional Clive Cussler but he's hit or miss for me.

Happy to be here and get some new ideas!

Welcome, Booksage! I love RS and PNR as well. I find my favorite romances are those with lots of action. Matthew Reilly and Robert Crais were two of my first strictly a/a writers and they made me want to read more. I love this group because it helps give me ideas of other books to read.

Welcome Mary and Booksage (Belatedly). I'm undergoing disney withdrawal. (Vacations...nasty things... keep you away from work by giving you more work and telling you it's all in the name of fun...okay, maybe there was some fun involved... a little...)

I'm glad you found the group.
