Hello to all, I'm Roy and have only recently joined Goodreads. I am home!I have been a Cussler fan for many years but obviously thoroughly enjoy anything along those lines. Andy McDermott is a more recent favourite, but any story with a hero, a damsel in distress, a bad guy (or), and fast paced action is always going to entice me. As long as the hero saves the day and gets the girl of course!
So glad to have found you all! :) I am Nita. I pretty much read anything I can lay my hands on, except romance and "romantic suspense". though my first loves are mysteries and thrillers.
Hello all,I cut my teeth on action/adventure way back when with a series called the Destroyer by Warren Murphy and Richard Sapir. The first one I read was "Killing Time" which was number 50 or 60 in the series already. I got hooked and had to back and read them all, then kept up with it because it was awesome!
Another favorite of mine is the Executioner, originally by Don Pendleton. Lee Child is a new favorite author; Jack Reacher is about the best out there right now compared to the good old days!
Hi David and welcome. I was a big fan of the Don Pendleton books...but I couldn't get them regularly while I was in the Army. LOL I only read one of the Destroyer books, but of late I've been thinking of running them down now and reading them.
I'm another Destroyer fan. Started reading them at #3 in 1972 & kept up with them as they came out until #80 or so. I still have over 100.
Finally, a group made for me! I am an Action junkie. It might be easy to say, but Die Hard is my favorite movie of All-Time, from ALL movies. Hans is the BEST villian ever.....I compare him to villians in any action movie I see. Most of the time, the other villians pale compared to Hans. I am also a Zombie junkie and everyonce in a while the two genre team up together such as in
by Glynn James and Michael Stephen Fuchs. For pure action, my action junkie book of choice would be
.

Welcome David, I think you have come to the right place. We just recently had a zombie book as book of the month, and many of us would put Ice Station at the top of our lists too! Loved Die Hard as well :)

Welcome David, I too just joined this group. Check out my Shelf called "Action" and you will see that I like the same two series you mentioned. And several others as well.

Several books fit onto both.
Hi David! The book Lisa was referring to was Patient Zero. Have you read it? I agree with many zombie books and horror books can be placed on the action shelf.

Are you kidding me????? I LOVE Patient Zero!!! Yes, this is the book that turned me into a Jonathan Maberry junkie. In fact, the latest Joe Ledger thriller is due out this week. I have Patient Zero in trade paperback and on my Kindle! 5-star PLUS for sure. Action and then more action, and then EVEN more ACTION! Yeah, I kinda like that book!

Shit, Patient Zero looks awesome. I can't believe I never heard of this book or the series! But no more, going to my list for sure...

I guess the answer was yes, lol. I also have Patient Zero a 5 star rating, excellent book! I've already purchased the second book in the series, just haven't had time to read it yet.

Hi everyone! I'm an Australian author with a life-long love for pulpy action and adventure. Glad to be a part of the group!
Welcome David too. I didn't miss you're entrance, just got swept up in the flash flood of life on this side of the computer screen. I've seen some of your posts already and I'm glad your here. I'm looking foreward to enjoying discussions about books and other things with you.
Hi! I'm published under William G. Davis but go by "Bill." I'm the author of Pagan Moon which is listed here on Goodreads. It is the first of 3 Mike Gage Thrillers. I describe it as James Patterson meets Stephen King. My favorite thriller authors are Robert Crais, Michael Connelly, Lee Child. James Lee Burke, Andrew Vaachs, Seeley James and early James Patterson.
Wow, love the action authors. Crais Connelly, Child, Burke, Vaachs... hey, who's that Seeley James guy? (Just kidding Seeley.) and patterson. Take all the books those guys have written and that's almost library full there.
Glad you joined us. Welcome, Bill!
