Hi Yvonne, I'm a Ludlum fan too from way back. I cut my teeth on books like "The Parsifal Mosaic" and the Chancellor Manuscript. My favorite is The Holcroft Covenant (Movie stunk though). Glad to see you here!

I’m a newspaper editor and publisher and publicist and winner of more than a dozen business and book writing awards. In 2008 I was a finalist for an Eppie Award for his non-fiction e-book: “Self-Promotion for Authors.”
I am also the author of two fiction book series: INSIDE STORY, tales of a team of investigative reporters, and ESCape Into History about time travelers who to record historic events as they actually happened and ensure that history is unaltered by outside influences. Also working on two additional fiction manuscripts of events in differing time periods.
Earlier in my career I put in 14 years as a senior public relations executive in the development and implementation of successful, goal-oriented communications and marketing support programs for major national corporations. I wrote the first public relations program for Coleco’s Cabbage Patch Kids and that program subsequently won the Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America. The Silver Anvil is recognized as the most prestigious award in public relations. I also was founding editor of another weekly newspaper in northern New Jersey and is the former editor of Funeral Monitor, a weekly newsletter for the deathcare industry.
Earlier experience includes 12-years as a skilled radio and daily newspaper editor and reporter for major media outlets in New Jersey, New England and Europe. I also published and edited a weekly newspaper serving Northern Ocean and Southern Monmouth Counties in New Jersey.

My name is Bec and I'm addicted to action novels. I have to push myself to read anything else, to be honest. My favourite authors are Stephen Leather, Lee Child, Robert Ludlum, Robert Crais, Andy McNab and Chris Ryan. I have just discovered Brett Battles and Matt Hilton and am powering through their series!
I do find I read a lot of British action, especially military based stuff. So I'd like to broaden my horizons and read some other American authors.
I have this sneaking suspicion this group is going to be wonderful fertiliser for my TBR list.

Hi Bec, Welcome! I recognize the first three names, I'm a big Joe Pike fan, I don't recognze the last two (McNab and Ryan) what have the written?
Brittish Action, ever read The Hidden Oasis by Paul Sussman? I just did an audio book of that and it was pretty good.

Hi Bec, Welcome to the group :-)
Hugh - Chris Ryan and Andy McNab are both former SAS guys who now write books although I haven't read any by them yet.

I haven't read anything by Paul Sussman.. I might have to go check out some of his works.
Ryan and McNab are both through traditional publishers, although Ryan has an 'extreme' series available for cheap on amazon, but tbh the quality is very average and I didnt even finish the first one. If you like military special forces stuff, I personally think that they are the top of the pile.
I listened to The Hidden Oaisis on Audio Book. It was pretty good. Kind of the English Version of Gray Peirce (Rollins).
Plus Sussman had some really warming parts in the story that were actually touching.

Just found this group and glad I did. I love action/thriller books. Currently reading Clive Cussler's The Wrecker. Looking forward to reading what everyone has to say and recommendations on great reads.

This is a fun and friendly group AND one of the few places around to discuss A/A topics.
Splitter

I just wrapped up David Wood's "Dourado", and found it to be a fun read.
