Hi all,I'm James, I love James Rollins (Sigma series especially), Lee Child, Preston/Child and anything along those lines. Looking forward to finding some new series suggestions from the group.
Hello all. I'm Jody. I'm glad I found this group. I'm a fan of James Rollins, Steve Berry, Vince Flynn, Daniel Silva and I recently discovered Matthew Reilly. I am currently reading Power Down by Ben Coes. I'm looking forward to discussions and new book recommendations. Merry Christmas everyone!
Merry Christmas Jody and welcome! Looking at that list of authors tells me we like a lot of the smae books, and, there are some new writers (to me) that I'd like hear about. Glad to see you here!
Thank you for the warm welcome....Let me know which writers are new to you...The ones I listed are excellent! I've read everything Steve Berry, Vince Flynn and Daniel Silva have written (in paperback) so far :o)

I've read a lot of James Rollins and a good bit, but by no means all, of Clive Cussler. I to have only recently been introduced to Matthew Riely (by association with this esteemed group) and enjoyed the two I've read (soon to be three I think).
The others, are certainly known to me, but I haven't taken the opportunity to dive into them yet.

I just used (today) a recent Christmas gift (giftcard to Barnes & Noble) to complete my Matthew Reilly "collection"....I have only read one so far and I am looking forward to the others....Clive Cussler too! :o)
Lee: Thanks! The picture was taken in Hendersonville, NC(outside of Asheville)....The park is called Chimney Rock....awesome views all around there. :o)
I didn't even see this thread! I jumped right in to other threads. I am from Texas with 2 kids, 3 dogs, 3 cats and 2 turtles. My hubby introduced me to a/a with Cabinets of Curiosities by Preston and Child being my first foray into a/a and Amazonia being next. I never looked back and voraciously tore through Rollins, F. Paul Wilson, P and C, Matt Reilly, Lee Child and James Swain.
Wow, there are a couple of writers in there that I haven't heard of and some that I have. Welcome Keri!

I love this A/A stuff.

Hi my name Markm, advid reader of the genre for over 30 years. As my wife KeriM attested,I got her involved in Action and Adventure. Yes I moved here to Texas spring of 02. Read scads of Authors such Cussler,Thor etal. I am so looking forward to contribute to this group in a meaningful way. Jack West trumps Scarecrow.
Hi Markm. Glad you joined! I don't know about Jack West being better than Scarecrow. I haven't read the Jack books yet, but it seems highly unlikely!
I didn't think that, Markm. It's all good. We like to tease each other here. Everyone knows that Scarecrow is my husband, and I'll defend him to the death! LOL.
Well now Lady D, we might have to share! :-) We will have to get together and talk about how we felt about the book Scarecrow!
I haven't read Scarecrow yet, but I heard something awful happens. I was on Wikipedia, and got spoiled!
OH NO!! Yes, you need to read it, but it was completely shocking. Even Reilly himself said that he debated on writing the scene for along time and knew he was setting himself up for some hate mail.

Reilly doesn't play. I am often shocked at how he (view spoiler) in his books!
Maybe we can do a buddy read in the near future for Scarecrow.

I haven't read Scarecrow either, a buddy read sounds like a good idea."
Yea, this guy's like the energizer bunny of espionage.

Thanks Eileen and Mike. If you do this as a buddy read, you might want to make sure you have read Ice Station and Area 7 before Scarecrow. There is some character developement that is important to that book.
I've looked at them...but as I've just gotten a registered letter informing me that my "to be read" pile is now becoming a hazard to orbiting satellites, I'm hesitant to add more books to it.
LOL...I hear that, Mike. Mark and I had to get seperate TBR bookshelves and then we had to get one for the books we read together.
My wife and I always had that. Three stacks, her books, my books, and our books. We would suggest books to each other, now and then we'd find one we both loved.
Hi LisaWelcome to the group from another James Rollins fan!

Hi KeriWelcome to the group.
Scarecrow is the next Matthew Reilly on my list to read.... now I'm really intrigued to find out what you and Lady Danielle are talking about. I'm moving it up my TBR pile!!!
