It looks not that detailed. :-(
Firstly, It doesn't have the option where it takes U directly to the seller's website if U want to buy the book and secondly, I checked a book named Conversations with Mani Ratnam whose MRP is 799 INR. Indiabookstore shows 535 INR as least option wherein "thisyathat" shows 479 INR as least one, try out. ;-)

ThePurpleFox http://www.indiabookstore.net/

Just search the book you want and it'll compare prices in the large online stores in India. (Cash on delivery and free shipping available on most sites!)

I usually rent books....otherwise Crossward. Sadly, here in Mumbai, there are no stalls or those kind of shops where books can be bought with discount..

I thought Book Street was a great place for bargaining for books in Mumbai

I have been there twice or thrice that also years ago...its somewhere near Fashion street... you can get several old books which are out of print at discounted rates.

Gaurav | 4 comments I personally recommend http://compare.buyhatke.com/books/. It does price comparison from 16 online stores so you get to know the best price. They also have an option for setting price alert so you dont miss when the price is lowest. And then you can also browse books authorwise, read previews of books and see price fluctuations. Haven't seen a better option.

As an example check

Sanchit Jain (latenightcrawler) | 99 comments Well, every month i order approx 12-15 books.
Here what i do
i Create a shopping cart of all these books in 3 websites -- Flipkart, Crossword.in and Homeshop.
And buy from where is lowest total.

By doing this i have saved minimum 500 bucks every time.
Not to mention if i buy these book from Shops/malls, i would have to shell minimum 2000 rs extra when buying 12-15 books at one go. I have tried it too.

Flipkart is not always best; Good to compare with crossword.in too.

Gaurav are you trying to promote this website due to some personal reasons???
If yes, then you can easily get banned... you mentioned this website once... no need to mention it again and again.

Thanks

message 369: by Shantharam (new)

Shantharam (shantharamsk) Flipkart.com & Amazon.in - where ever i get it cheaper.

Just found out about indiabookstore.net :D

Also would be a great help if anyone can point me to a good second hand book store in Bangalore. Heard of this place called Blossoms in Church Street. But don't know how it is.

Shinde (shindesweety) | 12 comments Hi in addition to amazon and flipkart, there is BookGanga.com. It is especially good for Marathi books that may not be available on the former two.

Also, librarywala.com rents books and home-delivers too. I think they have online services for Mumbai, Pune, Banglore etc.

message 371: by Cheran (new)

Cheran | 2 comments www.amazon.in
www.flipkart.com
