Keith | 25 comments I'm new to the world of actually wanting to pre-order a book. I know the release is dated for May/June 2012 but when does the pre-ordering typically start? 3-6 months out?

Jonathan It varies depending on author/work popularity. I am pretty sure A Dance With Dragons could've been pre-ordered in 2008.

Hell, I had it on pre-order in 2002 when it was supposed to be book 4.

Andy (andy_m) | 311 comments I have seen on Amazon the ability to pre-order books almost a year out for established authors and series. ("Almost" here is relative and not a scientific value). But I know that I can set Amazon to send me an email for when I can pre-order a book. That notice is great so I do not have to remember to check back frequently. I do that for items I might not even purchase at Amazon so that I get an email reminder.

Peter Hansen (ptrhansen) | 63 comments I assume you are talking about Blackout being the third book in the Newsflesh series by Mira Grant. One way you can follow series is by using the service from fictfact.com. It is a web site that notifies you of new books in series that you are following.

I am also looking forward to the third book as I read the first and the first chapter (sample in the ebook) of the second novel.

There is also the novella called Countdown: A Newsflesh Novella which is sort of book 0 in the series which is about the actual outbreak.

Keith | 25 comments Thanks I'll check out fictfact. I have the two novella's she did they are on my Kindle for when I finish Count Zero.

Book two in the Newsflesh is totally worth it, at first I was disappointed that it was from Sean's POV since I love George's character so much, but I quickly got over it.

Peter Hansen (ptrhansen) | 63 comments The first chapter I read from Sean's POV was what got me to purchase Deadline right after I finished Feed on my Kobo.
