Hello, I'm new :)

Hi, I just joined the group a few days ago. I have a PhD in medieval history, and direct academic programs and teach at the University of Pennsylvania. I read voraciously, across a lot of genres, but particularly love mysteries. I gravitate toward British mysteries (I started years ago with Sayers and Christie), and any mysteries with a lot of depth in character development. Recently I have started to read Scandinavian mysteries, and hope to add more to my to-read list. I'm looking forward to the discussions here!

Hello Kris and welcome. You've joined a really good group. I'm sure you'll find lots of people here with both similar and different reading interests. I also love British mysteries and I am a very big fan of Sayers in particular. I have also read quite a lot of Henning Mankell and there are plenty of other fans of Scandinavian writers in the group. One of Jo Nesbo's books was last month's group read, so you're in the right place for Scandinavian crime fiction!

Hello, I have no idea what to say about myself. I'm just average - Hugh. I've yet to bump into the Stieg Larsun books but I'm dying to get the chance. I'm currently into my 3rd Jack Reacher Novel (Childs) and, I've been enjoying the "Jack Daniels" Series (Konrath) though I am looking other places for reads now.

I have dreams of writing, but no time to write, and nothing to show for it, ...yet. Good luck to all of you.
