((cuz i'm lazy. i'll just go back and read.))
((okay, now i'm confuzzled again, why did Lily panic and take hold of Elsie? Just because Cari and Elsie "supposedly" betrayed them?))
((by accident, but then Lily says that Cari and Elsie betrayed them to the cops, and that Tom believed them, that's where I'm confuzzled.))
((oh, okay!))

I hurried to Cari. Her pulse throbbed feebly against my thumb.
"Cari, please don't die on me! I can't do it!" I said, my voice shaking. Thomas put his hand on my shoulder.
"Tom." He said, and that was my signal.
I hurried forward to Elsie. She had a cut on her neck where Lily had cut her.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yeah...just...scared..." She said through tears.
I cradled her in my arms.
"Boy!" Thomas shouted all of a sudden.
"Yeah?" I said, wondering what could possibly be happening now.
"Grab that first aid kit. I put one in your bag. Then bring it to me."
I grabbed the first aid kit from my bag, then handed it to Thomas.
"Here."
"Okay, now bring me the girl. The one with the cut on her neck."
I scooped Elsie into my arms and carried her over to Thomas, who was bandaging her neck.
"We'll have to make sure she doesn't move at all. She has a fraction in one of her spinal bones. Find Jay."
Jay? Where was he, anyway?
I looked back a final time to see Thomas applying salve to Elsie's neck before running deeper into the forest.

I could hear them talking in whispers:
"I cant believe they fell for me forgetting you!" jay whispered "They didnt figure out that if two object impowered people want to ersae eachother's memories its impossible!"
"I know!" lily snickered

I was shocked. How could this be?
"Jay. We have to do something about them. Tom believes them now. We need to eliminate them."
Jay shook his head solemnly.
"I know. But Tom has been with me since we ran away together. He and I are really good friends. I can't believe that he sided with Cari and Elsie, almost complete strangers, against me."
Could it be? Was he telling the truth? Only one way to find out. I walked into the clearing.

"What's wrong with us?" Lily asked, approaching me.
"We want the object." Jay continued.
And suddenly a voice entered my head.
And we'll do anything to get it.
((AAH SORRY! And oh my heck I love this part! For the sake of everyone i'm going to write a long one.))
I froze, the air grew colder, and my breath was visible as it evaporated into the dense air.
Jay scowled at me, "Now."
I shook my head, trying to get away, but Lily was pulling out her knife.
"I don't want to hurt you Tom." She exclaimed with an evil smile across her face. Her fingers delicately brushed the blade as Jay stepped forward, his hands outstretched towards me.
He had a grim smile across his face, but his eyes were full of worry, he did not want to do this.
My hands felt for the tree, but frost was slowly growing on every living thing. My body was gradually freezing. Lucky me, I was dressed in summer clothes too.
Jay pinned me against an iced over tree, and started with a cold voice, "Give me the object now Tom, and I won't hurt you."
Lily toyed with the blade, waiting for Jay to finish.
I shook my head fervently, trying to get away from his grasp, "No. I don't even know where it is!"
Jay cursed under his breath, and pressed harder, his hand clasped around my neck, "Tell me."
"I don't know!" I choked.
Lily edged forward blade outstretched, "Liar," She hissed her brown eyes narrowed.
Jay released his grip, and stared at my pockets, while searching me for it. For any evidence.
Lily held the knife against my neck, while her free hand pressed against my right shoulder.
Jay stood up turning around with a scowl imprinted in his eyes, "He doesn't have it."
Lily cursed and pressed the blade in deeper, "Do you have any idea where it is Tom? Because if you do and don't tell us, I will kill you."
I shook my head, "I don't, I don't."
Jay grabbed Lily's arm, "We can survive for a bit longer without it. We will just have to send our regards to the boss."
My ears perked up at the sound of boss."
Lily turned her head back towards me, "Fine. We'll be back Tom. And when we do, you better have it with you."
She turned to leave, "But just as a reminder," She dug her blade into my skin, in various spots. I screamed out in agony, but she paid no mind, "Next time it will be much worse."
They turned and ran, without a second glance. Leaving me in the bitter cold, bleeding to my death.

((Haha! I can write long ones!))

I had to get moving, or else I'd freeze. I tried to summon enough strength to send a thought to Cari or Elsie, or maybe ram Lily and Jay into a tree. But the cold seemed to eliminate my thinking abilities.
I instead used the strength to stand up. My legs buckled beneath me and I fell back to the ground with a small yelp.
"Help!" I shouted, hoping that someone would hear me.
Snow fell from the sky. I cried silently now, knowing that there was a good chance that no one would find me, but I still wished desperately that someone could.
Suddenly I heard snow crunching. I closed my eyes, hoping that it wasn't Lily or Jay.
I was lifted abruptly. A woman's voice whispered to me kindly. I fell asleep in her arms, hoping that she'd take me somewhere warm.

((OH MY HECK I LUV THIS STORY!!!))

"It's all right now. Hush, hush, just sleep. You've had a hard day and night." She said, and I felt myself falling back asleep thanks to her soothing voice.
"Hush-a-bye, don't you cry,
Go to sleepy, little baby.
When you wake, you'll have cake,
and all the pretty little horses.
Blacks and bays, dapples and grays,
Coach and six-a-little horses.
Hush-a-bye, don't you cry,
Go to sleepy, little baby.
Hush-a-bye, don't you cry,
Go to sleepy, little baby.
When you wake, you'll have cake,
and all the pretty little horses"
She finished.
I remembered this lullaby. One of my foster mothers used to sing it to me all the time.
She stroked my head, and I felt myself drifting into the sanctuary. of dreamless sleep.
((r we going to add magic into this? cuz i honestly think we could do without it. I'm sick of magic.))
((kk, good.))
The next thing I knew. . .I was wrapped around the aroma of chili. I don't know why it was chili . . . but it smelled heavenly.

I tried to sit up, but my arms felt like Jello. I successfully made it, and took in the aroma of the food.
My hand then searched my head, to find that bandages were wrapped around it. And it throbbed like no other headache anyone could bear.
I flipped my hands over, to find that they too were wrapped in bandages.
Memory flashed before my eyes of the terror, i tried to shut my eyes from the memory, but I could not get it out of my mind.
I took in my surroundings, and panicked, Cari! Where are you? Where am I?
There was only silence.
CARI!I called desperately.
Again, nothing.

((someone add on! if not i will!))

"Don't be afraid, child." she said, her voice soothing.
I won't hurt you. the words came into my head, calming, soothing, like the old woman's voice. I looked at her, shocked.
You-You can speak it? I asked, stuttering.
Of course.
I hate this. I thought bitterly as I dove into the chili.

"yes I have the power too" I heard in my head
"What power?" I asked out loud, "As far as I know it's just some stupid-" But was was suddenly cut off with a hand over my mouth.
Not here. Not now. The woman spoke, through thought.
Can you talk at all? I asked as she released her hand.
Yes She exclaimed showing no emotion on her face, It's better to keep quiet. They're watching.

((just to let you know, to do the italics thing you do word minus the star.))
She sat on a chair next to the bed I was in, "Ana."
((ME TOO!))
I opened my mouth to speak but was interrupted. Thoughts only pleaseShe leaned back in her chair like she was going to fall asleep. Ignore me. Act like we don't exist.
I bit my lip to keep from talking, Who's listening to us?
There was a silent pause, and Ana took in a deep breath, The people that want to use the object.
Which is? I begged, yearning for more information.
The government
I rolled my eyes, Figures. I paused and pushed my chili aside. I laid back in the bed, and closed my eyes. I wasn't great at acting, but this would have to do. How do you know about all this? Why am I here? What do you know?
