Now I'm reading Kaye Dacus's Ransome's Quest.

We're on a Kaye Dacus kick! Which two?

And this is how pathetic I am, I didn't remember I had an ebook copy of Stand-In Groom until a couple days ago. I'm in the process of slowly cataloging all my books, and right now I'm doing my ebooks, and a couple days ago I looked in my ebook folder and lo and behold, there it was!

dont have the titles on hand.
I should finish Miriams Heart tomorrow.

I love FictionDB.com too. They usually have really accurate records of back cover blurbs, which I like to insert in my book cataloging program (I'm using Booxter). I haven't found any database that does ebooks very well, although here on Goodreads they tend to have the Kindle ISBNs and general ebook ISBNs for most books. But Goodreads doesn't always have books coming out soon.
Yay! I hope you enjoy it! Did you read Deadly Intent? That one was about Naomi Grant, Rachel's sister.

I just finished 'Formula For Danger'! I really liked it and I plan on reading 'Deadly Intent' soon (I know, I read them out of order...lol).
Thanks Judy!
Jenny, January 2012 is when Stalker in the Shadows comes out. :)
Awesome! Thanks so much Melanie!

still working on False Witness (the loan time expires today... oops! I'm going to try the turn off the wireless trick to see if I can lengthen my chances!)
in light of the movie coming out, a friend is loaning me her ACTUAL BOOK: The Help to read, before we go... not sure how well I'll do with a real book after over 18mos or die hard kindle usage... we'll see!

I'm not that into vampires either, but I absolutely love that title!

Does that wireless turn off trick work??? I'll have to try that with my Nook.

Ha! Continuing our Kaye Dacus kick...
Ha! Continuing our Kaye Dacus kick...

Isn't it great? As much as I love Kaye's contemporaries and historicals aren't my favorite, I LOVE the Ransome trilogy. Kaye at her best!

so far, so good... got my "your loan expired" notice in my email... but with the wireless off on my kindle, I'm still reading steady freddie (just over halfway through!)

Wait until you get to Ransome's Quest. Stayed up very late--too late--last night to finish it. Wonderful end to the series.

I would love to see this series in a movie series. it too me back to Hornblower in some ways.

I agree, I do the same thing!

That's funny, Ausjenny. I had the exact opposite feeling. For me, Ransome's Crossing was the perfect end to a wonderful series. Kaye tied up the loose ends in a such a way that I was satisfied to close the book and walk away.

I finished it, too - LOVED IT!!!! Since then, I've read Susan Page Davis' The Crimson Cipher. What a great book! WWI suspense, intrigue, and as sweet a love story as you would ever want to read!
You guys are terrible! I have all these other books I have to read but now I want to pick up those instead!

The Restorer: I started this because it has a really interesting story premise, although it's secular so the whole premise about ghosts might make some Christians uncomfortable. I don't personally believe in ghosts, but I enjoy a good speculative fiction story anyday--I read almost all fantasy when I was in my teens.
Lucy's Scoundrel: I love the old Harlequin Regency category books. They were clean (for the most part) and short and sweet. The story premise for this looked interesting. I might actually steal the premise and write a Regency short story just for fun.
The Book of Romance: What Solomon Says About Love, Sex, and Intimacy: I started this book because I'm reading through the entire Bible again, and the Song of Solomon always baffles me since the metaphors are SO out of my cultural zone. So I picked up this book to see if it will better explain some of the language and meanings. So far it's great, although it's more topical than actually going line by line through the scripture. At points it almost feels like he's using the verse to get his point across, but there's nothing un-Biblical about it, so it's fine.
