RandomAnthony | 14536 comments How long do you usually read in one sitting? What's your usual longest/shortest stretch?

1 hour 47 minutes is pretty typical.

Typical right down to the last nano second, perhaps?

message 5: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) It varies for me. I might grab 5 minutes or I may go for the long haul and read into the wee hours.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) It varies...anywhere from 15 min to 2 hours.

message 8: by Louise (new)

Louise well, before I had kids, an hour or two. Now I read i 5-10 min sessions, and at night maybe 30-40 min. at a time.

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments I used to spend hours reading at at time, sometimes an entire day, but now that I spend 12 hours a day at work and my weekends either cleaning my disaster of a house or helping my mom, I'm lucky to fit in 20 minutes at night before I fall into a dead sleep. I sneak in a few minutes here and there at work, but my really great reading stretches are probably at an end until I find a new job that doesn't require a 2 hour commute (and if I can train my husband and roommates to not be slobs).

Angela~twistedmind~ (twistedmind) | 538 comments During the week, I will catch 10 min. when I have a break during the day. At night I read about 30 min-3 hours. Weekends I tend to read less even though I tell myself every damn week that I'm going to have a readng marathon one weekend night. I have read far longer than my normal, but I've never timed myself. In the hospital, literally all day so I guess 12-16 hours.

Perhaps this is one case where capitalization would have been appropriate?

CuriousSusan D (curiousd) | 9 comments I don't think I have rhyme or reason... sometimes it's minutes, sometimes many, many hours! I'm surprised to see many people only read for short spells. When I find a good book, I can't put it down, even if I know I'll be miserably tired the next day. haha
