message 132: by Icmajik (new)

Icmajik | 1 comments Greetings all, I am happy to become a member of a group to talk about books, one of my life's passions, music and film and art following as well. I have never been a book club member before, but I shall endeavor to be a participant that offers useful commentary. I am a constant reader, however I have been going through a bunch of life changes that have disturbed my reading habits a bit. I will catch up with as soon as I possibly can; recuperating from surgery and doing a crazy 365/24/7 IT job AND going back to school online, so my time is a bit tight. I'll see what you are reading and see if I can join in shortly. Thanks for having me! Melanie :)

message 133: by Mysti (new)

Mysti Parker Welcome Melanie and everyone! I'm behind with my hiyas, but glad you're all here! :)

Dale Ibitz (goodreadscomdale_ibitz) Hi Francis!

message 136: by Aryana (new)

Aryana | 2 comments Hi everyone! I'm Aryana, I don't write, blog or even live in the U.S. , but I do read a lot, love to do it actually. I read mostly fantasy/horror/mystery/romance...anything. So any recommendation is welcome! (:

message 137: by Dale (new)

Dale Ibitz (goodreadscomdale_ibitz) Hi Aryana! I found that I have started reading a lot more since joining Goodreads. I used to read sooo much when I was younger, then I grew up and got a job and had a family and started writing myself and she-it...reading got put on a back burner. I don't know if you're YA or adult, but I'm currently reading the Fever series (which is most definitely ADULT), by Karen Marie Moning, which is really good once you hit book 3. And I have a YA fantasy if that's your speed...Fire in the Blood.

message 138: by Jonna (new)

Jonna (bossybookworm) | 1 comments I just realized I've been a part of this group for a while, and never introduced myself. I'm Jonna. Hi!

message 139: by Dale (new)

Dale Ibitz (goodreadscomdale_ibitz) Hi Jonna! Welp, not much been going on...I don't think we've read a book as a group in awhile. Or should I say, if we have, I've missed it! LOL

message 140: by Julie (last edited Feb 24, 2012 02:34PM) (new)

Julie (jhelligrath) | 2 comments Hello, My name is Julie and I just discovered this group. I see you have not read a book together lately and thought I would share with you a group that I am helping to moderate that I think you will all enjoy. The group is Knights of the Round Table. It is a place for readers to get free copies of books from the author. All you have to do is review the book within 3 weeks for the group. But you could also discuss it in this group as well. It would be a great way for authors to get their books some exposure and a great way to get your hands on some free books!

message 141: by Dale (new)

Dale Ibitz (goodreadscomdale_ibitz) Julie, that's a cool idea!

message 142: by Julie (new)

Julie (jhelligrath) | 2 comments We are launching the group in March. Our first free book will be up for grabs March 5, 2012. Go over and check out the rules and regulations to see if this is something your group would be interested in. If so send all of your friends over. We are excited to be connecting writers and readers!

message 143: by Sterling (new)

Sterling Gate Books (sterlinggatebooks) | 1 comments Greetings from Down Under

Hi there - Great to e-meet you!

I’m one half of a New Zealand father-and-son writing/publishing team here at Sterling Gate Books.

My son James Morcan and I have co-authored two new release novels which have already appeared on Amazon’s bestseller lists in their respective categories.

One of these, an international thriller titled The Ninth Orphan, recently held the #1 ranking for one full week. In December, it was at #3 on Amazon’s ‘Movers & Shakers’ site for the biggest gainers for all books in its Kindle Store in the previous 24hrs.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0056I4FKC

Our second book, a historical adventure-romance titled Fiji, is already outselling our first book in some weeks, which bodes well.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0057YCZM0/

We are delighted that both books are receiving predominantly 5-star reviews. We are pro-actively seeking more reviews for both books, and that’s one reason we joined this group. That and to exchange views with like-minded people.

Best from NZ

Lance
