which among the stories relayed by Max did you like the most?

if you haven't read this book perhaps, you'd better avoid reading the replies til after you have... all the stories were wonderful since they were all about a man who had great love for his family. however, I'd have to say that the story about the Basilisk was my fave... it had evoked so much emotion that i can't even put them to words... =)
I also enjoyed the story of the Basilisk, along with the on-going journey of the "tourists" and their reasons for joining. I loved the story and have recommended the book to several folks.
My favorite would be the story about Livia. Its so heartbreaking and powerful it made my heart hurt. Livia was the beginning of his journey through centuries of pain hope joy and love.
