@Rebecca- I can tell, it's slightly frustrating but does make for a captivating read. and okay, that's good to know. i needed a little hope haha

But I picked it right up and continued... I just had to!

BEST. ADVICE. EVER. =)

**SPOILERS***
I just read the chapters about the Freys taking out the Starks and then Arya being killed. I'm so speechle..."
Yes. I was devastated and almost threw the book across the room. Persevere! You won't be disappointed. Well, maybe a little, but it's worth it.

(I couldn't care less if catelyn lived, but Robb had so much potential)

I agree with "keep reading". I was so devastated at the whole thing and then when I thought Arya died too, I had to take a break and go rant to my friend about it for a while. She told me to keep reading, and I was so glad I did, LOL The biggest relief I have felt since reading these books was when I saw that she lived.
I was also really upset about what they did to Grey Wind. :( Stupid Robb, he should have paid more attention to his wolf than his stupid bride.

Some men have the tendency to lead with the wrong head.

In another book in the series, I had a friend who told me she DID throw the book across the room...

ps. I'm just about to finish Book 3 so go easy on me.
pps. FIRST POST

Or there's also the revelation that there are no really good guys, just perspectives, and flawed people whose cause you favour:)

I have to say, though, the last of each character's chapters in this book has almost made up for it - every single one was either incredibly suspenseful or just really exciting - and now I am looking forward to reading AFFC!

It's such a roller coaster, but now that I've finished all the books I have yet to find another series as exhilarating.

I just finished book three, and I just need to ask those who have finished it; did Lady Lysa Tully/Arryn killed her husband Jon Arryn influenced by Littlefinger? is that what it meant on the last chapter of Sansa's POV?

Correct! Lysa is mad girl totally obsessed with Petyr Baelish

Yeah, for me that was one of the wow moments! I knew she was mental and all, but I didn't expect for her to be her husbands killer.

Nelly I share your sentiments, I'd never seen her before, and then at the same time as GoT, I watched The Pillars of the Earth miniseries and there she was again! Also I keep seeing the actor who plays Tywin in every other fantasy film or series, he's in Your Highness and Ironclad as well!

Things do not seem what they seem..

Also investigation or accurate investigation was not a big thing in those days:)

because these books are less a fantasy fiction epic and more an epic history of a fantasy fiction world.

the book of swords/empire of the east by saberhagen is pretty good.
and, often over-looked, there are the three dunk and egg novellas; set prior to a song of fire and ice but in the same world.

I can't stop laughing about "I just kept saying Hodor for the rest of the day." I just read the part about the Red Wedding and Arya, and I feel exactly the same way. Thanks to those who provided encouragement to keep going!

I knew something was wrong with the wedding - Robb's direwolf made me think that something bad was going to happen, but I did not believe in Aria's dead.
But I was really upset when she left Sandor! I like him and they were an adorable couple.

**SPOILERS***
I just read the chapters about the Freys taking out the Starks and then Arya being killed. I'm so speechless. I kind of knew it was coming, but still. It was so sad, i almost don't want to keep reading... almost. I was so attached to the characters. Was anyone else this devastated?
