Need recommendations: series similar to fever

I have finished the Fever series and I loved the books. I loved how the main characters don't get to declare their feelings until the last book of the series. I only read books/series which include love/hate relationship between the main characters otherwise I get bored too easily.
I also liked Kate and Curran- Kate Daniels
Pritkin and Cassie- Cassandra palmer
Bones and Cat (read few of their books)-Night huntress
Mercedes Thompson and Adam (read few books)- Mercedes Thompson


These books were recommended with similar taste. Which ones would contain romance similar to Jericho-mac love story. I would prefer completed series. And please recommend other books that aren't listed here. It doesn't have to be paranormal romance but I need a strong Love/hate relationship/tension filled romance series.

Chicagoland Vampires-I read the first book but I didnt find it that great.
*Gardella Vampire Chronicles
Dark swan- I liked Dorian but only read the first book.
*Dorina basarab- Its not a finished series and I don't waiting until a yr to read the next book.
*Sirantha Jax series
Vampire Academy- I think I read like 2 books and lost interest.

I don't have any recs for you yet, but am interested to see what people say. To me the Fever series was so epic, it's been really hard to find anything that satisfies after you finish that journey.

I started Halfway to the Grave, and was sorely disappointed with all the comparisons to the Fever series...
I read all of the Hunger Games and the best book was the first, and it pretty much went downhill from there.
I haven't read Kate Daniels or Cassandra Palmer but I did read the first two Anita Blake, the first Rachel Morgan, the first Mercy Thompson, and the first Georgina Kincaid none that came close to Fever.
I also read the first two Vampire Academy books, and while I liked Rose, the series still didn't hit a stride for me yet.

So I'm with Hina. Help us please, or Ms. Moning just needs to write her follow-ups in the fever world faster because I'm starting to think that there is just nothing that can compare!

Ashley, you should read Kate Daniels because Curran is the one of the few charcters that comes close to Jericho. Loved the romance between Kate and Curran. Cassandra Palmer is pretty good series too. I think you will def enjoy both of these series. You should give them a try!
I read like two of Anita Blake's books too- I liked Jean-Claude.

My favorite series also keep the relationship at bay for several books. Kate Daniels and Fever are good examples. There are big lists in the previous messages so I may repeat some you've said. For the slow to resolve relationships, I liked The Darkest Powers Series , , Morgan Kingsley series , The Troubleshooter series, but each book has one relationship focused on , Hope some other people come up with some books with this aspect that I haven't read! Love this post!

I have to say that Chicagoland Vamps was amazing(I am almost done with Hard Bitten and can't wait for the next one). They have a very similar build up like Kate Daniels. I know you said you started it and wasn't crazy about it, but it may be worth another shot.
IMO too many people compare Fever and Night Huntress. I think they have their similarities as far as alpha males(same could be said for Kate Daniels, I LOVE all 3 series and male leads). But I think that is where the comparisons should stop. Cat and Mac really aren't comparable till Mac 2.0 but I still think they are different, as well as Bones and Barrons. The relationships are different as well, Fever being more of a building tension while NH is more of an immediate relationship. This again, is just my opinion. I love both but feel it makes people dissapointed when they are compared. They should both be read and appreciated as individuals. Good luck in your search! I have found several amazing series but shy of the same relationship building have found Fever to be an original.

Rosemary and Rue, A Local Habitation, (An Artificial Night) and Late Eclipses are all part of the same series. They are somewhat lacking in the romance department, although there is definite sexual tension between the King of Cats and Toby (short for October - the main character.) It involves fae (of all varieties) San Francisco, and alternate planes/realms. It's like an urban fantasy mystery, but the stakes are fairly high. The background story on Toby is unique as well.... you get to learn about it as you go.

Hounded, Hexed, and Hammered are all part of the Iron Druid series - relatively new - and it centers around a male character, Atticus. There are some funny, funny bits in these books... just to give you a hint, he can speak telepathically with his dog, his lawyers are a vampire and a pack of werewolves, and he gets regular visits from deities. There is a little romance... well, not really romance, let's just say sex. But I picked these up from the library on a whim and really enjoyed them.

I know alot of you will disagree with me....but although there are alot of fantastic series out there, nothing is like the Fever Series.

Yep, Fever series is certainly unique and the best in my book.
Kate Daniels and maybe Chicagoland vampires are probably the closest in similarity.

The Downside Ghosts series is also dark and angsty and a great series, but be warned the heroine has quite a few personal issues to work out which turns some people off. I loved it. Great hero.

I would recommend the "In Death" series, by JD Robb. The first book is "Naked in Death". It's not really a supernatural series, though sometimes those elements to make an appearance. The main character Eve, is a tough to the bones but extremely good hearted and laser focused homicide cop (she reminds of Mac at the end of the series) and her guy is Roarke, this Irish rugrat/theif turned self-made billionare and genius in New York. He epitomizes Alpha-male like Barrons, but in his own way, and has his own sense of right and wrongs, grays, and justice. He's not your typical good guy, like Barrons, but he *does* good. Plus he respects Eve, they push each other, and they often time work together to solve her intense cases with no little amount of chemistry. I'm a HUGE KMM fan, Yet I haven't read another series that has rivaled Fever for me yet, and i read an awful lot. Still "In Death" is one of those few books that has soothed that craving. It's a different kind of book from the ones mentioned before, but the important character elements, developments, and thrills of mystery are there - but rooted more in real world bad guys and fears. Don't be intimidated by the length of the series, the first book is excellent and if you like it you will want to read at least until the 3rd, because that's when the romantic relationship jumps a whole other level.

Plus, on KMM's blog, she recommended some of her favorite inspirations on Borders. I read some of them, and they were good. I especially liked "As you Desire" by Connie Brockway and Dreaming of you by Lisa Kleypas. As you desire, also presented that similar angle of looking at a man's actions as opposed to how he *appearance*, and it mingled in some desert elements that is seemed Monning is fond of.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this group and I love urban fantasy books. I was just reading everyone's comments and I just can't help noticing that no one has mentioned Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series. The female lead in the series reminds me of Kate in the Kate Daniels series. As for the male lead, I would definitely say that he is Barrons number 2. He is dark, and not the typical good guy, and is even sometimes cold blooded.There is alot of relationship building and tension between the 2 characters.

I agree that you should give Chicagoland Vampires another try. I also second the recommendation for Succubus blues. If you like YA books at all, the Iron Fey series is very good.

Loved the fever series. I've yet to find anything comparable. Outlander was amazing, thought not really supernatural. I liked KM's earlier books too, with all the highlanders.

Rourke and Eve are worth a try...JD Robb is Nora Roberts.

Not sure I would have tried if I had known Nora Roberts but Rourke and Eve are an epic couple. Eve's a tough chic...lots of action. Good books.

Deborah Harkness series a bit like Outlander...2 out but will be trilogy
